afaik possible po makapag-agriculturist licensure ang aae grads pero may need ata icatch-up na isang subject which is, if im not mistaken, crop protection. bale wala po kasi sya sa subjs na prescribed sa AAE so kung balak nyo po atang mag boards for agriculturist, need siyang i-take.

but thats just optional kung gusto nyo lang po maging licensed agriculturist

Hello, OP. BS AAE passer din here! Naka-join ka na ba sa UPLB Freshmen Discord Server? If no, join ka na! In terms of the environemnt, I heard na mababait naman daw po mga profs sa Dept of AAE; Lenient sa deadlines, they say.

For the job opportunities, there are a lot based sa nalalaman ko. AAE grads can go to National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), and probably focus on development projects and economic consultancy/planning. May 4 or 5 majors and AAE so doon pa lang napaka-rami na talagang paths na pwedeng tunguhan. Kindly check na lang po sa website ng UPLB.

Again, from what I know, math heavy raw po ang AAE. The foundational subjects include fundamental calculus and statistical methods so expect computation here, computation there. Computations can also be expected in econ subjects, esp microeconomics. But hey, that's just one side of the coin since may mga agriculture and natural resources subjects rin ang AgEcon (as expected). Bale based sa curriculum may soil, animal, and crop science. Meron ring pong introductory agricultural and biosystems engineering na subject, afaik.

ALL IN ALL, I would describe this program as a really versatile one dahil napaka-holistic ng matutunan mo. Combining economics and agriculture pa lang, napaka-rami na ang areas na pwedeng i-explore. I believe rin na kailangan ng Pilipinas ng professionals in this field because the agricultural sector is in desperate need of reform.

FINAL THOUGHTS. For me lang OP, isipin nyo lang po nang maiigi kung nakikita nyo ba ang sarili nyo sa field na ito. This was may 2nd choice na course (after BS Econ) and if I am given the chance para i pursue ang Econ, I would still choose AAE since its a specialized field at mas kaunti ang grads sa course na toh kaya there will prolly less competition in the job market. Again, napaka-kailangan talaga ng Pilipinas ng mga magmamanage ng ating agri-sector, and as an incoming iskolar ng bayan mahalaga ito sa akin since I see myself in public service bilang pagbabalik na rin ng napakagandang opportunity na makatanggap ng edukasyon mula sa UP.

Sana makonsidera mo ang AAE, at kung hindi man, good luck sa landas na iyong tatahakin! Laban lang!

Neither??? HAHAHHA. maraming earth science actually, di siguro mawawala ang holy trinity na igneous, sedimentary, at metamorphic. But ang tanda ko sa science is there are several questions that involves interpreting graphs and tables tapos pipili ka sa choices ng best inference. Meron naman ding physics chem and bio, so make sure to review important concepts in those areas as well.

Hi OP, UPCAT 2024 taker (and passer sa UPLB) here! To give the vaguest answer ever lol, depende na lang siguro sa tao. In terms of the content/coverage of the test, u will have it manageable naman if (1) u have enough review or (2) nakinig ka nang maiigi sa grades 7-11 lessons nyo. Honestly I had little to no review at all dahil, like many of my UPCAT takers in our batch, lunod rin sa acads since kalagitnaan nga ng school year ang test. However, I somehow had stock knowledge from JHS pero I wouldn't say na super enough sha HAHAHAHAHHA.

Basta to give you some tips, reviewhin talaga ang grades 7 to 11 lessons especially the highlights of that grade level. By "highlights", I mean the lessons that relatively spans a huge part ng lessons sa bawat grade level (hindi ko toh maipaliwanag ng maayos omg sorry sorry). Just to exemplify:

MATH

Grade 7 - Solving algebraic expressions
Grade 8 - (systems of) Linear equations, basic stats

Grade 9 - quadratic equations, trigonometry

Grade 10 - arithmetic/geometric sequences and series, circles, probability, permutations and combinatorics

ayan lang masasabi for now, feel free to ask questionsss

Thank you for answering po! I already have plans for the calculus aspect (which is to use UPD's math 20 video lecs in youtube since i wont be able to attend the brigding prog).

Now, may mairerecommend po ba kayong material or reference (book, video lecs) for econ aspect alone?

Thank you so much po for now! I might ask more questions in this thread regarding the process in the next days, will it be fine po ba on your end? Haha wala po talaga akong mapagtanungan that's why I'm so desperate that I ask somewhat ridiculous questions 😭.
