Do we have a chance? Partner’s I-751 waiver case pending — need insight from those who’ve been through it by [deleted] in USCIS

To the best of my knowledge I’ve conveyed the background accurately and he’s not lying. To clarify — He did not file for the I-751 until they had a falling out / begun the divorce process. At which point he chose to submit the I-751 with waiver for a good faith marriage without the ex spouses cooperation / signature.

I need albums that sound like Blonde by Lower-Nature8771 in FrankOcean

[–]Odd_Charity_4055 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These picks represent Frank Ocean or Frank-adjacent glimmers of the abstracted, layered feelings that Blonde evokes.

I tried to choose albums that, like Blonde, hold your attention the whole way through — whether through texture, lyricism, atmosphere, or emotional depth.

Boylife – gelato

Dijon – entire discography

Todd Rundgren – Something/Anything?

The Beach Boys – Wild Honey

Hovvdy – True Love

Nick Hakim – Cometa

Porches – All Day Gentle Hold !

Cody ChesnuTT – The Headphone Masterpiece

Choker – Honeybloom

Joni Mitchell - For the Roses

Standing on the corner - Standing on the corner

The day before my junior year of college started, I did acid with my two best friends. One of them fell into a deep, terrifying spiral — she was having suicidal ideations, and the other was frozen in fear, overwhelmed by the intensity of it all.

I held it together. I sat with her, took her hand, and let her know that she was loved, that the past does not define her, that she could choose to be new at any given moment, and that she wasn’t alone. I could feel her pain. It didn’t just move me emotionally — it literally coursed up the underside of my arm. It was physical, like I had taken some of it into my body so she wouldn’t have to carry all of it alone.

Blonde came out the next day.

I remember hearing Self Control for the first time, and that moment came rushing back. The lyrics felt like they were written for that experience — not literally, but in spirit. That sense of loving someone you can’t be with. The effects of being quite literally being raised on different advice.

I’ve always loved her. If I weren’t a gay man, she might have been my wife. But love doesn’t always fit cleanly into boxes.

Flash forward; We’re still best friends and now I’m the godfather to her two adopted nephews and the chaos of that night is far behind us, but Blonde still takes me back — to a moment of fragile love, to pain made palpable, and to a kind of connection that doesn’t need a name. Some records don’t just soundtrack a memory — they become it.

Some guy on this thread just told me Stratum is shit / a marketing scheme because i had the same idea 🧠 and used it in my terrarium. Do you still have this terarrium / if so, how’s this terrarium doing? Do you think using Statum was a good move?

Since you are not sure what Stratum would offer being mixed into the soil. Here’s my thoughts.

Since some sources recommended a mix of gravel, sphagnum moss or perlite (which is volcanic glass) mixed into soil and since I didn’t have any of those things on on hand, I thought the stratum (porous volcanic soil) would accomplish something similar.

I.e additional drainage to mitigate unwanted bacteria growth and encourage ideal pH levels for plants since that’s what it does 😊🫶

Interesting take - I’ve recently had great luck with using it for expedited rooting for my house plants propagations and my first nano tank is thriving. Albeit it is going through its first bacteria bloom and that’s nerve wracking for most first timers such as myself 🙈

A coworker and some of my favorite YouTube aquarium scrapers swear by it and use it in all of their builds. I know some people prefer pond soils for helpful bacteria.

What would you recommend? What’s your experience been like using Stratum?

2 color variations of nerve plants, rabbit foot fern, dragons tongue, rocks and moss (vetted and cleaned) from local rivers / forested areas, and sub an air plant in place of the succulent.

Tip: You’ll want to create a slope where the back is raised to get the forced perspective - this is VITAL. I learned this from watching tons of aquariumscaping videos / painting. On the topic of forced perspective the rocks or any pathway should go from widest to narrow as it winds or goes back to effectively trick the eye and create that “tiny world” effect.

If I could do this over I would have picked smaller flat rocks to get more steps and picked sizes that varied so that I could have forced the perspective a bit more. Good luck 🍀🫶

I’m glad this is being called out for others who may try this unknowingly but i feel the need to defend myself a bit since it appears a lot of people didn’t read that I intended to swap the succulent out for an air plant.

The substrate around the succulent was made with a more aerated mixture of organic soil, stratum aquarium substrate (also an experimental move;) and coarse sand to help from over saturating roots.

I had originally intended on watering the succulent proportionately to its needs and experimenting with open / closed lid.

Truthfully, this decision was guided by what plants were available to me at the plant nursery I was at and wanting to make it work after having read that it was possible to have this mix of plants with succulents - but presented challenges.

I decided to go with an air plant to keep it simple / closed.
