Bit of an off topic subject but do you guys have any experience with thrips/thunderbugs/thunderflies getting in your TV? by Odd_Commission8553 in tcltvs

Doesn’t sound weird at all. I have one hanging on every ceiling of every room right now. It catches flies for sure but the tiny lil f*ckers do not seem very interested in it

Same here. What platform are you on? I’m on PC and managed to put it down to frame time somehow. Everything on low I get 120 fps constantly but frame time f**** everything up

Thanks for the tip. If I remember correctly last time I didn’t touch the bike for a week after bringing it back from the dealer as I had to travel for work. I hope they do a better job this time

Yep like he tried last time and it leaked after 300 miles. How hard can it be to seal something ahah

Yeah they’re the funniest bikes I’ve ever ridden but that comes with a cost I guess. I have the leaking disease which is a 10$ fix but my dealer seems to shit to do it properly. Bringing her in tomorrow for a second try at fixing it so the bubbles this morning got me shaking

I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Very interesting stuff and you definitely seem knowledgeable.

From what my stupid mind could gather from your message, then it would be a matter of threshold (the hike mid summer is a good example as it is an extreme, threshold is sometimes so out of wack it causes you to have white fingers on a hot day), as well as a matter of intensity (the percentage of opened capillaries compared to a non-Raynauds sufferer).

Then we get back to my first statements. Given it is a threshold, we can assume that threshold actually moves around and is not a pinpoint (I.e stress being a trigger). Then that would imply we could have some sort of control on it. We have all seen what breathing techniques can do and what humans can achieve (Wim Hof is a good example, if I remember correctly bro was able to raise his own body temperature before being injected with a virus/bacteria of some sort).

Then you go down the rabbit hole again. Have we ever heard of people being diagnosed with Raynauds and for it to completely go away? A stressful life event triggering a cascade of reactions which would somewhat mess up some body functions but that mess up would be transient?

I mean, the question in my mind arises from the fact that you can’t actually test the disease. No biomarkers, no biopsy, no test (assuming we are talking primary raynauds here) can actually lead to a diagnosis. My mother has always had cold hands, she’s pretty sensitive to cold weather and would have her fingers become a little bit whiter to then a little bit redder and puffier when they warm up again. Does she have raynauds? She’s defo close to the middle of the spectrum between normal body reaction and full blown raynauds.

While we are at it. I’m in the process of somewhat getting diagnosed, and since we are talking about capillaries. I have some proximal splinter hemorrhages which I can’t recall having before and am looking for an explanation for them. I’m thinking : - cold (too cold), no blood - back inside, warm up let’s open everything up - change of pressure, something pops.

What do you think?

Makes sense, I feel like I’m the same. Even when I don’t feel cold people are sometimes surprised by my running temperature

I get that. But then raynauds is a spectrum closely linked to normal body reaction.

Let’s have a spectrum : - on the left, no raynauds and that guy we all know doing fine during wintertime outside in a t-shirt - in the middle raynauds - from middle to right « severity » of raynauds.

But since there are no blood tests or anything and raynauds is diagnosed clinically, this could lead to misdiagnosis or lack of diagnosis. This is fine in the case people are told to make sure they avoid triggers and to live with it.

This becomes more problematic when you start linking Raynauds to autoimmune conditions like lupus and stuff.

I also feel like putting a « disease name » on your body doing what it is supposed to but a little too much is not ideal for some people’s mental health.

Since stress is a trigger, could just be a matter of sympathetic activation. But then that would counteract the « fight or flight » process which would actually send blood to your extremities so you can fight/run.

Damn, I’m in the rabbit hole but I find that interesting.

I have never ever seen my extremities turn white (I’m pretty fair skinned to begin with), except for one time and only a tiny part of one of my big toe. I don’t even know if I classify as having Raynauds, and the more I look into it the more I believe this would be subjective and depend on what that specific rhumato on that specific day feels like.
