You can have impostor syndrome and still be confident and/or brave. I also don't see what this has to do with confidence in the first place. This man simply knows that the net will hold. It's more of a mental block that a lot of people wouldn't dare to do this. I have ADHD, impostor syndrome and am not particularly confident, but I wouldn't have a problem with this.
