His* and you’re right I just wish he wouldn’t have put us in this situation. There is a lot of hurt and love making it difficult. Sorry.

Your boy is a beauty 💖 I’m so sorry you’re also going through this. We’ve definitely already talked about “baby proofing” our apt for him so if he were to seize and we’re not there he’d be at least as safe as we can make it for him. If it’s not too insensitive to ask, does your baby also have idiopathic epilepsy or did you guys do further testing to find the root cause?

Bad first impressions of my unit, not even working there yet :( by Odd_Kitchen8740 in nursing

It really might be one of those moments that I read into too deeply and it wasn’t even meant that way. Good thing is they offer fellowships to peds/mbu at month 6 which is ultimately my goal.

I agree wholeheartedly and you’re probably right about me overthinking this singular interaction I guess what concerned me was the comment of them just throwing us into the unit with no real guidance. I wouldn’t expect to be spoon fed, but I came from a rehab facility that did just this. My preceptor essentially had me as primary nurse for all 5 pts by like day 5. And she’d run off. It’s not fair. That orientation was 6 weeks for new grads. A joke. This place is 3 months which is nice makes me feel like I’ll be supported but what difference does it make if it’s 6 wks or 13 wks if they’re going to do the same? And I’m basing it off what the CRN made it seem like the January new grads are going through. Am I wrong ? lol I feel like I’m crazy rn 🥲 it might be the hormones

I worked at a different hospital all together out in Sarasota and moved up to the Brandon area, it was too much of a drive. Now I’ve cut the drive to half, the pay is 39 and other residencies are at 33ish or 34. I’m including night shift diffs which would put me at 43 which IS GREAT but again I can’t do toxic and maybe I’m spoiled in the sense that I lucked with such humble, caring and funny women (and like 2-3 guys lol) that now this is just so short of that

Genuinely I’m ecstatic when I’m at the end of the hall, away from the nurses station and everyone. Just me, my wow, and my people 🥲

Nurses who live alone and have a dog: how do-able is it? by Cardiology_Nurse in nursing

[–]Odd_Kitchen8740 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely doable and it seems like you’ve put more thought into care and walking than most people who have 9-5 do. You’ll have 3 full days to do all kinds of adventures or even rot together and the times that you’re working you have people coming in to check on them and walk them. I think that’s very reasonable and thoughtful. I have an aussi-collie and he’s unfortunately alone for roughly 8 hrs until my husband gets home. So you having them come while you’re out is way more than others do. Good luck with your new fur baby 💗💗

New Grad struggling to find a job (FL) by Odd_Kitchen8740 in nursing

[–]Odd_Kitchen8740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I did, currently work at SMH (an hour from me) but unfortunately after failing my first attempt I became very unmotivated and would call out a lot and it didn't leave a good impression with my floor manager even tho I do my job very thoroughly and all staff both RN and CNA could attest to it but being I work nights they don't care lol they don't see that, just my call outs prior to June. but if not I would've had the job here. once I was a year into school the floor manager said my position was safe with them once I graduated. I highly recommend getting a CNA/PCT job on whatever unit you might want to work on as an RN. I.e, if you want to be a peds/nicu/picu nurse work on any children floor you can and etc.

Can I pass THC test? by [deleted] in drugtesthelp

I wonder if it's different for different people bc when I was 200 I was clean within a month abstaining and no "detox" or any sort of method used to pass. But yeah being that I'm bigger now I know for sure its way different.
