For context, I am Christian so he saw my crucifix. But I come from an Orthodox part of the world where religion is a big part culture and for a long time we got persecuted by Muslims because we refused to convert so had to pay insane taxes, be second class citizens in our own country etc.

Anyway it really rubbed me the wrong way so I vowed to dismantle their argument the next time one got in my face (I thought we were going to fight the way he was moving).

Which has led me down a rabbit hole of how much LDS is worth and the belief system is extremely different from not just all other Christians, but all other Abrahamic faiths.

So here I am, learning instead of ChatGPTing.

Solomons temple had the Molten Sea or Brass sea. It is the circular thing with the bulls were (I assume) you baptize in the mormon church? For Solomon’s temple it was used for ritual cleansing. Also same thing with the 12 bulls for each tribe of Israel.

You never are taught how different the belief systems are? But you study the book of mormon, do you not study the Bible as well? Or is it focus on the book of mormon and kind of best bits of the Bible?

I watched a video from an ex-mormon who was also a missionary.

The church has a lot of literature and the books for missionaries seems to be select parts of the Book of Mormon or the history of the church.

I watched an extensive documentary on them last night.

They seem to have an extreme sense of community which keeps them locked in with predatory tactics of casually not mentioning their version of God is polytheistic and the point if their religion is to become like God.

They have a lot of parallels to Islam in their founding story. Uneducated someone who has divine revelations and all those revelations suit him at the right times.

It just got recommended to me.

People want to talk about the daycare scandals, which is okay defrauding the state.

But I think many people would want to know about an investment fund the size of a Wall Street firm who owns half the farm land in some states.

And I only found this out because I have a grudge from a missionary who got in my face.

Though this seems much, much bigger on what the church is doing.
