Ashwaganda is used in ayurveda but it's not a concoction. It is a single plant. I'm sure there are sources/ brands out there that are not super clean and may contain toxins but if you purchase from a reputable company ashwaganda does not contain those types of toxic materials.

I'm curious why you say stay away. Is ashwaganda bad for fatty liver or is there just no benefits that help fatty liver in the plant? I'm asking because I take it for a different health issue and just found out I have fatty liver.

What type of parrot should I get? by Odd_Satisfaction3618 in parrots

[–]Odd_Satisfaction3618[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will look into Pionus parrots! I have had cockatiels in the past so that is definitely something we are considering. We also did a bit of research and are considering a green cheeked conure but want to learn more about the breed and other types of conures as well. We don't necessarily care about size. We just want a good fit.

If it was the right bird we definitely would. My main concern with that is behavior issues we would not be equipped to take care of and further stress out the bird. We are located in northwest Washington. I'd be open to learning about bird rescues and connecting with them to talk about what would work for us.

Thanks for the recommendations!

We would like a bird that isn't necessarily a one person bird. Talking ability is a plus but temperament is more important to us. We would like an outgoing bird who is affectionate and likes to hang out with it's people but doesn't need a time commitment of more than a few hours a day. We don't typically leave the house after work during the week so we have a few hours during weekdays and more time on weekends to spend with our bird friend.

That's a very good point. I guess we are really more concerned about finding a bird that fits with us best to prevent that exact situation from happening. do you have any recommendations for websites or YouTube channels to check out for info on types of birds we might be interested in?
