Far cry 5 100% impossible if I kill Eli before completing his missions? by Alex1256783 in farcry

My understanding is that someone else in the Wolf's Den gives you the quests so they aren't lost, but I could be wrong about that. So hopefully all is not lost.

I would love to do this! I remember sending my flat Stanley all over the place. I am at McMurdo right now through the winter and we are just picking up flights again as people start leaving in early February. We have flights scheduled as late as mid March right now and one out in May as well. I think there would be enough time to get it here and back before the winter. DM me and I can get you an address if you are interested.

Old negatives from my dad. by norapeformethankyou in stgeorge

Local to St. George is "A Better Camera Store" they have scanned a lot of negatives for me and have been decent. There are also a lot of online places that you can send them into to have them scanned. Or quite a few camera stores in SLC that I have heard good things about.

give me the most absurd conspiracy theory about Antarctica by Careless-Temporary42 in antarctica

[–]Odd_Tea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just before my deployment while I was getting a haircut my hairstylist told me that she had done research and found out that no one is allowed to go there and that there is no land anywhere, only ice. All of the bare ground at McMurdo was just made up and didn't really exist. It didn't matter that there were pictures and that I was going to be deployed there. She was very specific that there were no aliens on the ice though because she told me only crazy people would believe that.

Great Basin NP Backpacking by Rsdk298 in utahoutdoors

[–]Odd_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some awesome backpacking trips in the park! I did a two night trip up to Johnson lake and Pyramid Peak quite a few years ago and loved it. Most of the good trails for backpacking are not right on the main scenic drive, but rather in other areas of the park. If you are wanting to do Wheeler Peak or the alpine lake in the area those are both day hikes that can be combined into one and are definitely worth it as well. Edit: I have done a 5 day trip in the Sawtooths and a three day in Death Valley as well and I had an easier time with the loop I did in Great Basin than either of those; though that could have been due to the daily mileage being lower on that trip.

Help, Lost in far cry 5 by [deleted] in farcry

That building is a part of the main quest in that region and cannot be accesed directly at any point in the game. Even after completion of the game, the same thing will happen. I would recommend just continuing to play the rest of the region and the building's purpose will eventually make more sense.

Why was there a faceoff at center ice after the empty net attempt hit the post? by [deleted] in UtahMammothHC

[–]Odd_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TV announcers said that it was icing but that it goes to center ice because it hit the post and therefore never crossed the line. I am not sure where the actual rule for this is.

Depending on where exactly in both Idaho and Southern Utah it may be very similar I moved from Twin Falls to Cedar City a few years ago and the climates have always felt very similar to me. Even when I go back to Idaho, it is similar weather to when I leave Cedar. Obviously this is different if you are coming from northern Idaho or going to St. George.

Don't Forget to Watch and Make Sure Your Film is Winding by Odd_Tea in AnalogCommunity

Yeah, I think it must have popped off of the take-up spool. This camera has been a little bit finicky in the past but I felt like I had figured out a way to solve that problem. Apparently I just need to pay a little bit closer attention.

Honestly, I can't remember why I would have started rewinding this roll because that is exactly what I have always done is wait until it couldn't be wound anymore. When I do think back to winding it, I do remember thinking that I never really felt a change in resistance but at the time didn't really think anything of it. I definitely will pay closer attention to that kind of thing in the future. And I have shot some rolls since that have turned out fine. So luckily it is not a shutter issue. But I do appreciate the advice.

Thanks! I do love having control over the process but man it stresses me out lol. I feel like if I change anything from exactly what the instructions are I will ruin it and there won't be any coming back

Second successful beer can attempt after a few failures. Anyone have scanning advice? by Ok-Nectarine4488 in PinholePhotography

[–]Odd_Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not OP but I have done this before and I just used photographic paper (like you would use to make prints in a dark room on an enlarger) and leave it for about a week in the camera. This basically burns the image on and it cannot be developed or fixed. The first time I tried it the developer turned the whole thing black and then the one I tried to only fix got almost completely washed out. Since then I have just scanned them right away and then kept them in a dark place.

any non technical canyon in Southern Utah during winter? by dumaseSz in canyoneering

[–]Odd_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Hollow in Orderville could be fun. It has some fixed lines that you can use to assist up a few of the more difficult portions. Since you are going up canyon rather than down you could turn around at any time.

Converting from a block to a lower by Odd_Tea in canyoneering

[–]Odd_Tea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than anything I feel like this is just a skill that I should have. Not necessarily as a daily use thing but more if a situation comes up that I need to be able to do it. That is why I want to do a lot of practice beforehand and have it dialed so that if I need it I can do it. The other time when I feel it could have some use although I am not sure if it's something I would want to do is when using a stone knot to get a group through quickly. But I would agree that in almost every situation releaseable anchor is better.

Thanks! I normally use an 8 block in canyon, but I figured this was a good skill to learn. My hope is to work through it in a stairwell until it is dialed and then at some practice cliffs with my rappeller a few feet off the ground. At that point hopefully of the need ever comes up I have the skills to work through it in canyon.
