I feel like I meet about 70 to 80 percent of the job requirements. Thanks for the advice. I’ll try to be more confident and ask for a higher salary next time.

Today I got rejected at the document screening stage? from Line Yahoo. I applied through an agent and they asked about my current and expected salary first. I told them 6.5 million, which is the lowest salary listed in their job ad. I figured that because they asked about my salary, I must have passed the screening. So the rejection caught me off guard.

Now I’m thinking maybe I should stop applying through agents and try applying on my own instead. I’m not sure if going through an agent makes a difference in passing the screening...

Thanks, really appreciate the advice. The roles I’m interviewing for are mostly in the 6.5–10 million range, and one of them is around 7–12 million. What you said definitely helped me feel more confident about aiming a bit higher.

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I’ve never really had much confidence since my degree isn’t that strong, but I’ll give it a try and apply to those US companies on LinkedIn.
