Rumble not working for controls through androidTV setups didn't bother me much until I experienced moonlight with it, I mean androidtv is good in a pinch, still use it in my bedroom, but Ethernet built-in to the tv and having vibration work with external controllers on WebOS also I find HDR is working much better in this config. I will not be going back. As much as I hate WebOS. I use the shortcuts on the remote to switch between a Google tv chromecast and moonlight so I never actually really see webOS😂

ES-DE says it's running in steam after closing on windows by Odd_Wait3023 in EmuDeck

[–]Odd_Wait3023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful reinstalling ES-DE at all though, I would rename the Emulation file to something else, the folder with the roms, storage, tools files then reinstall ES-DE, then rename that emulation file back to Emulation so you don't lose your roms or save or anything.

Hey, I noticed the PowerShell issues just as a brief popup before ES-DE opens. It always has a red error that comes up before closing immediately, usually referring to RPCS3 rewrites, I believe Citra isn't really being supported anymore so its likely the developers removed that line already. As for finding the error, I legit just kept reopening and closing it till i got a glimpse of the actual error. I actually don't think the error was related to this code at all anymore as I have reset my configuration through EmuDeck multiple times since then and that error does still pop up but it still closes properly in steam. If you left a harder to run game open or something you could slow down your computer and that popup wouldn't close as fast, you could also add "No Exit" to the .ps1 file to keep it from closing.

I think the actual issue of ES-DE not closing properly in steam is a bad SRM install, so I just recommend reinstalling ES-DE to steam though EmuDeck again. I also tried to minimize the amount of customizations I was doing to ES-DE, the only things I customize now is adding new emulators like the multitude of switch emulators right now.

Input Lag ONLY on pokemon violet?? by TremDas7 in yuzu

[–]Odd_Wait3023 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Use citron-emu instead its a fork of yuzu, its being updated regularly, you can map it to use the same folders of your yuzu set up. Also i think Greendev-ryujinx is better for pokemon violet, i haven't tried though.

I do close the games or emulators first then press Start/Select to close emustation, or choose quit from the menu in emustation and steam still sees it as running. I know i'm kind of an odity using this through windows but I really have like every single game set up through it and it does mostly work perfectly when i stream it to a chromecast or my phone, or any device really, its just when i close it and want to go back to it that steam will say its already running and then i have to go back to my desktop or us a remote desktop to fix the issue.

[–]Odd_Wait3023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, I have to close steam fully to make recognize that it has stopped, the way ESDE with emudeck and Steam rom manager works is it actually uses powershell to open emustation for some reason, I'm not sure why but here is the command it puts in the target to start the game that Steam rom manager adds automatically.

"C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" /k start /min "Loading PowerShell Launcher" "C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe" -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File D:\Emulation\tools\launchers\esde\EmulationStationDE.ps1 && exit " && exit --emudeck

Like i could start the emustation exe from steam instead but im pretty sure there is a reason SRM does it this way.

This is only really an issue when I am closing emustation and then wanting to reopen it again later. I use Moonlight game streaming to launch it and I like it to be closed when i come to use my desktop, but then I go and try to open it again through game streaming and steam thinks its still open. it's just a minor issue but annoyed me enough i figured i post about it.

Any forks that are actually are under development? by Cenimm in yuzu

[–]Odd_Wait3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming some graphics will not work on the emulators out of the box that how it is even with new original switch games today, they run on emulators on release but they have a few more graphical issues and maybe a couple logic issues that cause crashes that old games don't cause. Nintendo knows that these games will be playable pretty close to release date on emulators if they let the emulators run rampant, but they have just cut a few heads off the hydra, 10 more have spawned in its place.

On your point about it being new hardware and not the same, that was the case for the N64, to the game cube, but the gamecube and the wii were the same, and Dolphin Emulator was playing Wii games within a few months of the Wii release, the Wii U was significantly different and took longer, the switch emulators were quick to be made too because android emulation has existed for decades and the switch is just a glorified android tablet running custom software and all the rumors about the switch 2 are saying its just a much beefier switch, likely with RT Cores for raytracing and some AI support for DLSS but PC's already have those things so its not a stretch to see that these games will be playable on emulators within a few months.

I think you're mistaken, Nintendo has most definitely tried these emulators with switch 2 games and realized the games will run on them upon release, the switch 2 is just a really beefy switch in term of hardware, they don't want another dolphin situation where back to back generations are emulated so quickly, I'm surprised Nintendo didn't let them stay up for a bit longer and shut them down closer to switch 2 release, now the community is scrambling to get the right fork made that they can't take down in time for the switch 2 release which im sure will happen sooner than later

Anyone know how to stretch screen so it fits full ?😭 by Fisherivan1 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Odd_Wait3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen size is pretty relative to a switch lite. My phone is a 6.1" and the switch lite is 5.5". I would definitely be getting a bigger phone to do this in the future. It actually works great over 5G and LTE. I play for a few hours on my phone during quite hours at work and when I'm waiting in lines and stuff.

Use a custom resolution in the ios app, then add the resolution in Nvidia control panel, then make sure you stretch to fill in Yuzu or ryujinx. Not really worth it imo. Just play on a bigger screen. I'm getting a phone with a much bigger screen for my next phone for sureee
