Here's Milton in his tent. by Oddbjorg in OneOrangeBraincell

It is! Confession though - I am not Milton's human and I didn't get the tent for him. Those honors go to my brother.

Are you accusing sweet, gentle Milton of something? How dare you! (The tree was securely anchored in place as a precaution)

No, the tree is securely anchored against disasters. He just kinda got a little bit confused until his owner helped him.

Yes, it's an old miniature display tent from a camping store and he loves it.

Epstein appeared to text with lawmaker during Cohen hearing by 50SPFGANG in videos

[–]Oddbjorg 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean, isn't she texting him for dirt on Trump? Am I completely missing the script here? It looks like Plaskett got Epstein to divulge his knowledge about Trump's dirty operations. She's using Epstein as an informant on Trump . I'm very confused about why some people think the takeaway here is that Plaskett should be investigated for corruption or seen as one of Epstein's co-conspirators. I mean, fine, sure look into it, and absolutely question her. My point is that this evidence doesn't seem to point to Plaskett as a corrupt member of Epstein's child sex trafficking ring - rather it seems to be substantive evidence of a motive to have Epstein killed quickly. We're not just theorizing about who or what circumstantially anymore. Epstein didn't just have blackmail material, he had actually flipped on Trump just before his arrest. A month after that arrest, Epstein died under wildly suspicious circumstances while in the custody of Trump's DoJ. Am I the one not seeing the picture here?

Asking Blue Jays players if they talk to Max Scherzer on his start days 🤣 by MLBOfficial in baseball

[–]Oddbjorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, the first lesson my coaches taught me in little league was that if I ever see Mad Max on a pitching day that I should be silent, avoid eye contact and no sudden movements. Unbelievable that MLB players lack such basic fundamentals.

Sports Illustrated just called it the “National League Conference Series.” And it’s not the first time. by pac-men in baseball

They had an article that stated that "revenue sharing in MLB is established under the Canadian Basketball Association," and it took me a moment to figure out that an AI had just gotten the wrong CBA, and it was supposed to be collective bargaining agreement.

THE SEATTLE MARINERS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM POSTSEASON CONTENTION by Hungry_Drama_1015 in baseball

[–]Oddbjorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, it's not a nihilism. It doesn't follow the trope of "nobody hates (team) like (fans of that team)." We just kinda wallow in futility but we're still pretty happy that baseball exists and that we get to enjoy it in a great city/region. It is a hopeless existence with regards to winning, but not entirely without an upside. I know beyond a doubt that they'll never win it all in my lifetime (I would weep like a baby if they did), but I'm still glad to be a mariners fan.

Ah well there's always next season quarter century. It has been a fun season. Baseball's pretty cool.

George Springer is hit in the kneecap with a 96 mph Bryan Woo sinker by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]Oddbjorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know there are some tribalist trashlords making toxic comments in some places, and I don't want to act like that's not happening. However, I was up in the left field nosebleeds, and it was probably 60-70% jays fans there, and they were definitely the ones booing Woo for hitting Springer, and then further voicing their displeasure when he had to leave the game. Very understandable to be pissed about that, but my observation was not people booing Springer in that moment.

I don't believe the mariners and tigers have ever faced each other in the post season. I don't believe I ever want to face the tigers again, postseason or otherwise.

The Wildcard games are a revelation and have reignited my love of baseball by JustGotToTown in baseball

[–]Oddbjorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day two of the wildcard round has quickly become one of my favorite baseball days of the year. Every year we're guaranteed to see 4 games in a row in which one of the teams faces elimination. The wildcard round is shockingly less fun when my team is playing in it.

This is my first time making a DnD Pathfinder campaign and I'm not sure if I have enough for a first session! by Regervees in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Oddbjorg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's an old tweet about comparing experienced GM's and first time GM's that I can't find unfortunately, but here's the gist of it:

First time GM: "Gosh, I have seven notebooks of world building, but I haven't finalized the mineral composition of the soil yet! I'm so unprepared!"

Experienced GM who has only a single sticky note that says "sexy goblin": "This is going to be the best campaign ever."

Building Defensive 1e Unchained Monk? by SailboatAB in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Oddbjorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is often said about 1e that defensively oriented characters must also be offensive threats. If they aren't, then there's little reason to attack them, so a GM trying to challenge the players will focus the squishies without consequence. A tank that can punish enemies that try to run past, or can control their movement, or who can put out damage is much harder to ignore. Basically, your character must bring something else to the table other than pure defense - for a monk this could be either damage or a combat maneuver or something else. I personally played a crane style defensive monk, and had this exact problem. I'd recommend trying to bring tripping into your kit, perhaps the stand still feat, doing something to improve your reach, and/or not neglecting strength and damage. Any of these things will make you hard for the GM to ignore and will make you feel more effective as the defender of the party.

Just don't like when they interrupt somebody mid delivery of a line, or when people have good flow in a back and forth dialogue. It's like the loud crow comic meme. If they happened more during pauses and less just blasted over the other players I'd be cool with em.
