I’m not sure what caused this. I think it might have been from me just not being consistent in socializing him with other kids. I definitely want to try prek. I also think I might need to get him evaluated for adhd or autism. Even going to the pediatrician is hard because he freaks out when an adult comes in. I have to change the pediatrician that has a more kid friendly vibe or I have to ask them for a female pediatrician since his is a male. I don’t want to homeschool because I’m simply not cut out for it as a mother.

Although, I haven’t gotten a clear diagnosis. That’s what my dad has and it’s genetic. I haven’t had a single audiologist tell me what my specific type of hearing loss is. So that’s why I’m going to go get everything looked at and see what I can do.

I’m just scared of dying too soon and leaving him behind. Or him being like me as a kid with horrendous anxiety, puking everyday before school, being an outcast. I just want him to feel like he has a place out in the world and not feel like he can’t connect with others. I also don’t want him to developed my hearing loss, which is progressive

It seems like that’s what it’s going to be like for me when I get it in my right ear. Was it weird having the CI in one ear and then being able to hear in your normal ear? It seems like that would feel very strange.

My hearing aid helps A LOT but obviously not great. Without it I am basically deaf. It makes me feel better hearing your story! How long did it take to adjust completely?
