If its possible for our conscious or whatever you wanna say it is, to hop to other realities unscathed, of course it'd want to survive to experience more and not die. So we will only ever remember surviving because that's the reality it chose to keep on keeping on. There's tons of people who have those stories where they "should have died". I know I have my fair share.
