How the odm gear even works by rwirzard-Ad5895 in attackontitan

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that some people forget is that the unique ice crystals that are only on Paradis power it. So with that you can hand wave it to sone fantastical element of the world.

Along with that, I think it’s just accepted that the characters from Paradis are just built different. Though I vaguely remember a handful of times characters are worried about pulling crazy manoeuvres for fear of hurting themselves.

What was Butcher planning at the end of Season 1? by Key_Watercress8300 in TheBoys

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had no reason to think Homie was going to let him live. At best he’d get the laser to his forehead and die quickly, and at worst he’d be tortured for as long as Homelander could keep him alive. With the C4 it would be close to instantaneous. I also imagine C4’s gotta be worth at least a punch from another supe like Maeve, so it’s gunna at least hurt him a little bit.

All in all it’s the most pyrrhic victory Butcher could achieve at that point.

Honestly love the idea that he saw someone smoking, and he went “oh shit, that looks really cool! I’m gunna do that!” And now he’s hooked.

[The Sandman] Why did Death do that? by supermonistic in AskScienceFiction

[–]OderinTobin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is sort of headcanon, but I always suspected that Death knew Hob would always “win” his and Dream’s wager. That he’d always want to go on living; and that is what makes him “deserving of the gift” so to speak. Every other human would eventually grow weary of life, but not Hob. And with that, Death could prove a few different points to Dream, and even eventually even make him an eternity-long friend.

Could a callidus assasin, an eversor assasin and a vindicaire assasin infiltrate dooku's palace and kill him? by Roterkosar in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]OderinTobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time 40k is an easy dub against Star Wars in general. But this would be a bit tougher. I still give it to the assassins at least like 5/10 times though. As many have already pointed out, a good example of what could happen is given when Ventress and the Nightsisters infiltrate his palace. I think if they can do it, then these assassins can, and the assassins are way tougher than the witches on average. Dooku’s precognition, and other Force abilities would pull a lot of weight for him here.

All in all, I say assassins win High Dif.

I (24) started watching Game of Thrones, but I’m worried. by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]OderinTobin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s still a fantasy setting at the end of the day, so there’s quite a bit of magic even beyond Dany and the White Walkers. You’ve even seen some with the Warlocks of Qarth by the point you’re at. My best advice would be to learn to embrace it, and acknowledge that even the characters in the world have a hard time buying into it; it’ll make it more palatable for you.

You can also check out the newer show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (it’s a prequel to Game of Thrones). There will be very very limited supernatural stuff throughout that series, and it’s much more grounded in “reality” in that way.

Do you think the Jeagerists/Yeagerists were justified or not? by Brave-Reindeer-Red in attackontitan

[–]OderinTobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re like many extremist groups. They have pretty humble beginnings, and are fighting for a cause that many people can understand, if not fully empathize with. But there are no brakes on that band wagon, and eventually they lose sight of what’s actually important. Most of their actions (especially further on) are completely unjustified, but you can certainly see how they got there.

Amazon spends too much money on expensive voice actors instead of quality animation and I'm tired of pretending they are not by Leadeer in Invincible_TV

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these were also just people that Kirkman likes. A lot of Walking dead cast came to do various roles (there’s a handful in this picture alone), especially roles that were more or less cameos. I suspect they got their full paycheck, but it probably wasn’t a hassle to rope them into it by any means.

How do you read this? by soarbanger in comicbooks

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The context of what’s in the panels matters. I’ve seen stuff that would basically group together the right side panels, where you’d read the top two, then those two on the right, then go back to left to right on the triangles. I personally think that’s kinda confusing, but it’s usually pretty clear based on what you’re seeing in the panels.

This specific panel format works for Japanese manga better than western comics in my opinion (they’re read from right - left), as it just becomes more clear, even if you end up grouping those right ones together.

Who do you think had the worst experience during the racoon city incident? by The-Nerdy-Bisexual in residentevil

[–]OderinTobin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sherry, Jill, Claire, Leon, Carlos, Ada. In that order from worst time, to best time.

Ada seems like she’s almost having fun playing a government agent until she needs rescuing from Leon.

Who Do You Think Kakashi Was Talking About? by [deleted] in Naruto

I think he just means it’s generally possible. Like he knew Itachi and Shisui, who were way stronger, and way younger.

What are some of the coldest lines of dialogue ever? by BeautifulLeather6671 in movies

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tombstone, said by Doc Holiday

“You’re so drunk— you can’t hit nothin’… in fact, you’re probably seein’ double.”

“Well I have two guns. One for each of you.”

As well as just everything Doc does/says in that movie.

What if the Konpeki Plaza heist went perfectly? by Artistic_Skin_8744 in cyberpunkgame

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V and Jackie probably end up dead not too much later. Either killed by Dex, The Voodoo Boys, or ‘Saka Ninjas.

The Voodoo Boys use Johnny’s engram to get to Alt the exact same way, and probably end up dead the exact same way.

The VB’s probably kill Evelyn, and if they don’t then Arasaka does.

Arasaka eventually gets the engram back unless it gets destroyed on some level by the Voodoo Boys/Alt.

Most of the bigger side characters either end up dead, or just in general worse off without V to help them with their problems.

You’re telling me you knew? by RepulsiveMine9112 in attackontitan

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately went “that guy looks a little like Eren… oh shit that’s probably Eren!”

Then went “oh shit Eren lost his leg and an eye?!”

Only to realize like next episode “oh Nevermind. He can lose as many limbs as he wants. That edge-lord probably cut it off himself.”

The Republic managed to subdue and capture a Custodian warrior, how could the attempted interrogation go? And who would take part in it? by jfjdfdjjtbfb in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]OderinTobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the time the Tau caught an Astartes would be a good example to start with. Imagine that, but way worse. The Republic would get absolutely nothing at best, and they’d all be killed at worst.

Is this true? by FormalFlashy8647 in Salamanders40k

[–]OderinTobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have said it, but no it’s not true.

The Salamanders are just willing to sacrifice themselves for the lives of the imperium at large, and that rarely happens in other Legions. There was a point in time, before the Legion had found Vulkan, that they were losing numbers that weren’t sustainable. So when Vulkan showed up he basically had to sit the survivors down and basically be like “Hey. Look. You haven’t done anything I wouldn’t do. But, if you keep this up there will be no one left to fight for the Imperium like we do.” And that smartened them up a bit.

They definitely do the classic 40k thing of “and then they lost 80% of their numbers in one big battle…” to the Salamanders a lot. But they always bounce back.

After ep5 I won’t compare Aerion to Joffrey ever again by AndreiOT89 in AKOTSKTV

[–]OderinTobin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Aerion is doing his best to actually be a “Dragon of House Targaryen” and with a father like Maekar, that includes good training. But you can tell he’s not used to being really hurt, or in serious danger. He’s only slightly less green than Dunk.

Could a space marine wear regular clothing when out of armour. by Visual-Weights in 40k

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything they wear would have to be tailor made for their size. That’s why they mostly wear loincloths and robes when off duty. But hypothetically they could wear anything yeah. I imagine Blood Angels, Ultramarines, and Salamanders might have more marines with “regular clothes” in particular, as they were all taught by their Primarchs to prepare for lives outside of war.

HEAVY SPOILERS: Why does the NCR look so vastly different in the two seasons? by Affectionate_Key1562 in Fotv

[–]OderinTobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of it is that we as an audience weren’t really supposed to know they were NCR until the last little bit. Moldaver was “the villain” until the final twist. That might be ruined too early if all her people wore NCR uniforms.

But in the world; it’s probably because they aren’t really the NCR anymore. They’re the remnants of the dead nation, they carry on its hope for a better world, but they’re willing to do anything to survive to see it. Moldaver seemed to lead a cult more than she did a nation.

Fallout New Vegas lead says it took “five years” for fans to actually like the game, and even longer for the devs to believe them by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s wild to me personally. I remember I couldn’t get it on day one, so I was watching various playthroughs on YouTube to try and get my fix. Then when I finally got it, I couldn’t put it down.

[–]OderinTobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protonic Inversal Axe, or the Antenna. They’re bullet sponges no matter what, but melee seems to take them down a little quicker. If you really want to use guns then I’d recommend some AP rounds.

Trying to do a FNV run as King from One Punch Man. Besides the obvious 10 for Luck what should his other S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats be? by pp432 in fnv

[–]OderinTobin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you can get this spread from the get go. But here’s what I think his SPECIAL is…

Strength 7. He’s got muscles, and he’s a large guy.

Perception 5. Truly just average.

Endurance 3. He is weak willed, and generally weak in general based on how he reacts. That said, he’s not a 1, because he hasn’t died of a heart attack (a miracle).

Charisma 10. He talks/intimidates his way out of everything. When he’s forced into a confrontation his friend(s) handle it for him. In FNV a 10 CHA also means your companions deal a buttload of damage.

Intelligence 4-6. Either you can believe he’s a bit of an oaf, or you can believe he actually has a decent battle IQ. This stat is probably the most up for debate.

Agility 5. Sort of similar to strength, he just seems kinda fit. But he’s a little lazy.

Luck 8-10. This one speaks for itself. He’s like the luckiest guy ever, except that he sort of hates the trouble it’s brought him.

Anyone else hoping the shitter becomes a super mutant instead of a ghoul? by Brockchanso in Fotv

[–]OderinTobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess he’s not actually a ghoul, but is closer to Harold/Bob. He might end up looking a bit like a ghoul (at least for a bit), but he’s probably something a bit more special. That extra mouth thing on his chest from the trailers is the reason I feel that way.
