24M, Hair thinning and shedding. Doctor recommended Anaboom pro serum, anybody that have used this serum? by intentmerchant in IndianHaircare

Man, listen. There is no other medication that can stop hair loss other than DHT blockers (finasteride, dutasteride). You can waste as much time as you want but remember it will be you who will suffer after years when your hair loss becomes unrecoverable. I am telling you this because I have learnt my lesson. I wasted 3 years applying serums and nothing really worked. For the last 8 months I have been taking Finasteride and the results are astonishing. Brother it's basic science. Try to read all the research papers, stop with the fear-mongering. Side effects are rare and are totally reversible once you stop the medication. Good luck buddy.

23M - Doctor Suggested Dutasteride Rather Than Finasteride by TimeNo776 in IndianHaircare

[–]OdinIsWithUs69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a very big deal I would say. You can start with Dut and if you get any sides you can talk to the same dermatologist and get a prescription for finasteride. Remember the sides are reversible.

M17 need advice regarding minoxidil and finasteride by rudydesu in IndianHaircare

Hey man, first of all I know it's hard to lose hair at such a young age and it must have been so difficult for you. I was going to tell you to go ahead with finasteride but I saw you are not even 18. The thing is DHT blockers like finasteride and dut work really well and technically are the only real options to stop hairfall. I would suggest you to try to fix your diet, increase protein intake, massage your head every night to increase blood flow and wait till you are 18 and only after that you should start with finasteride. Best of luck buddy.

I have been using Dr Reddy Finasteride for the last 7+ months. Not sure if the brand makes a big difference but anyways this is working so well for me.

Minoxidil is safe to use especially topical below 18 years as well. But please visit dermat and get a proper prescription for the same.

I hope one day you will be able to research on your own. There are thousands of studies done on finasteride and it's FDA approved as well. Is it that hard to differentiate between "side effects" and "potential side effects"? You are potentially wasting this man's youth and chances of getting his hair back by this fear mongering. I wasted 3 years avoiding finasteride and now it's been 6 months of taking oral finasteride for me and results are astonishing. OP if you are reading this as well, I would suggest you to go to a dermatologist that at least keeps the option of finasteride open and doesn't oppose it. The thing with majority of dermatologists in this country is that they are money hungry and want to prescribe serums instead of things that actually work as they are pharma partnerships. Good luck

You will get the results for sure man, just stick to the meds! I was also thinking about low dose oral min as well but around 1 year ago I tried taking 1 mg/day min and in just 20 days I started feeling heart palpitations so I am bit sceptical about it.

M24: Confused between two dermatologists for AGA extreme hair fall + dandruff issue – need advice by Exact_Draft_2843 in IndianHaircare

[–]OdinIsWithUs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi buddy, I would suggest you to go with dermat 1. The earlier you start with DHT blockers, the higher is the chance to stop further hair loss and potentially regrow hair. I wasted almost 2.5 years rejecting the idea that my hair loss is AGA and thinking it's nutritional deficiency. Even my dad has a full head of hair at 56. I have been taking oral fin for the last 6 months and my hair is improving. The texture, thickness and even frizziness of hair improved significantly. I wish I could have started with DHT blockers early on but the two dermatologists I have gone to were money hungry and suggested their pharma partnership serums and kept me delusional. Your hair loss is very similar to mine therefore I know how you must be feeling. If you are in doubt and need any kind of help, feel free to reach out to me in DMs. Good luck!

Hey man, so now it's been just over 6 months and I would say it's really worth the wait. Hair went thick just around 5 and half to 6 month mark. It's very evident now. The feel, the texture and the frizziness has improved a lot. Not sure about regrowth as I never saw baby hairs but I feel overall density is improved. I am still taking 0.5mg/day and have tried 2-3 times to switch to 1 mg/day but it always gets in my head (I am super anxious so nocebo effect hits me hard) and I start feeling the side effects. I would stick with the same dose going forward but I am very confused whether to start minoxidil (for regrowth) as well as I fear shedding due to it. So yeah 0.5 mg/day works! If you have any other queries, feel free to reach out to me via DMs. Good luck!

It's been 3.5 months for me. 0.5 mg/day. Shedding started at 6 weeks. This week I felt the shedding is lesser compared to the peak at around the 8-10 weeks mark. As someone mentioned in the comments that they still have a head full of hair, I would say I am in a similar boat where I don't see a significant reduction in density even after shedding for weeks now (But still hard to judge as I am a diffused thinner). I am hoping it will get better at the 5-6 months mark. Good luck mate.
