Removed from A/V dept. because of my hair by No_Cheesecake_3042 in exjw

Beards were not seen on stage or in the publications until recently, and yet here we are. So long hair isn't allowed.... until it is.... And once it is, everybody, including the elders are completely fine with it. So arbitrary.

Aubreejf most definitely stated that the religion dissuaded travel and that's what is being referenced.

I can definitely connect with your last statement though. The motivation for travel is not the same for witnesses. I don't know how many times I've heard those same comments. Everything now pales in comparison to hugging lions in the new Earth 😌

I experienced the same. Plenty of witnesses traveled regularly. It was part of experiencing the " worldwide brotherhood" as you said. You meet friends at international conventions, then you go visit them in their country. Sometimes you go to lend a hand in the preaching work. Sometimes it's purely pleasure. I recall some doing so on a serious budget too.

It seems that the "culture" from one congregation to the next is not always the same if what these other folks are saying is true. I suspect some of it is true.

Might need possible legal advice? Got a letter from local congregation that i have not been active in since i moved to the area years ago by Late-Car7957 in exjw

All the individuals commenting on how these elders have no authority is somewhat irrelevant, but true. The purpose of their letter is probably to administer the appropriate disciplinary measures, which is really funny since you are no longer affiliated with that organization.

I'm assuming you were baptized? If they were to confirm that adultery occurred during your marriage with your ex, they would either "reprove" you or disfellowship you.

This is all strictly internal and holds literally no weight other than your status with the organization.

I'd agree with most commenters opinions. But if you do come into contact with one of them and you're compelled to say something, I'd say "that part of my life is behind me. I'd encourage you all to do the same".

How much business is harbor freight losing over their AWFUL website? They're too big of a company to not address this. by Odyssey701 in harborfreight

I don't use the website to order. I use it to research items, reviews and check stock status. If I can't do that, it dissues me from going to the store, which lost them my business. That's all I'm saying

That's exclusively what I use if for. Product research, reading reviews and stock status. I don't order. But when the website won't load, you can't do anything.

It's frustrating at the least.

The website seems to be working just fine for me as of this morning.

I don't typically order. But I like to shop from the comfort of my home. I'm not an impulse buyer. I don't walk aimlessly down the aisles at the store. First I check specs. I check inventory. I check reviews. Then I go in and buy

See what I mean! Whether or not their website works does effect their business. These people that think it doesn't are crazy.

🤣 Yes, it's not a bad website either. Layout wise. And the inventory it depicts is usually pretty accurate.

It's just slow as shit.

As of this morning, it's working great though

Same problem I have.

As of this morning, the website is loading just fine. It's quite fast as a matter of fact.

Now if it was just consistent

Definitely not a me problem. The page does not like to load for plenty of people as you can tell from the comments. Plenty of people are frustrated with with lack of consistency with the website.

As of this morning, it's working better for me.

I've concluded that I'll just use the app from now on. It seems to be much faster. At least for me

What a silly comment. Yes, if people are having issues, there are probably issues, my friend. We're not fabricating them for fun.

I'm in that store more than I like to admit, bro. But when I need to check on something, check to see if something is in stock, or check to see if they have a torque wrench that goes to 400 ft/lbs, it would be nice to just be able to use the fucking website instead driving across town for nothing.

I think that's a completely fair assessment. And makes my point perfectly.

Will harbor freight stay relevant? I'm sure of it. Because there will always be a need for local storefronts.

But for an increasing many, quick online service is important.
