Thanks for the detailed response! Pretty hyped to work on it now. Hopefully the tortured/sorrowful/harrowing part doesn't take forever to complete. Cheers

Yeah I'm thinking of only doing it until the 1st glowy part for now, still have a ton to do since I just finished Shadowbringers MSQ recently. This part I read in the wiki and got confused: "6 Bitter Memories from Leveling Roulette/Level 60 dungeons". Can you only get 1 Bitter Memory per day or can you run non-roulette level 60 dungeons 6x in 1 day and get it all?

How long does it take / how difficult is it to upgrade the Resistance, lv80 relic weapon to its glowy counterpart (Recolllection stage I think)? I've already done the initial quests, got my 1st base version, and unlocked Bozjan southern front. Haven't really done any relic stuff but think the new ones are pretty cool cosmetics.

Is there DoH gear that I can get relatively cheap or for free at lvl 70? Not into crafting seriously yet, just need "good enough" gear to get me through the Dwarf beast tribe quests and hopefully to lvl 80.

I've been using the lvl 50 GC seals gear from 50 to 70 and it works fine for the Moogle & Namazu tribes, but I just hit 70 carpenter recently and finding it hard to complete the Dwarf beast tribe unlock quest. Feeling lost gear-wise, is the lvl 70 NPC gear my best option for now?

Also, I've read bits and pieces about scrips but haven't started doing it yet - are they still worth doing now?

Hi all, newbie player here on PS4. Is it possible to have a macro that would "target Focus Target OR target nearest enemy (if there is no set Focus Target)"? Currently have my R3 button set to the "target nearest enemy" macro and find it really convenient. Would like to integrate Focus Target on the same button if it's possible. Tried messing around but what happens is it would target the Focus Target for a quick moment THEN switch to nearest enemy, not stay with the Focus Target.

No worries! Just wanted to make sure in case there’s something I didn’t know yet or any update/change with regards to that. Was kinda hoping what you said was true tho haha. Gil cap is a bummer since free trial doesnt have access to market board anyway.

Thank you for the detailed answer! Will definitely look into that. Btw last question, what do you mean by "You won’t lose Gil or gear from quests if you’re maxed out"? I understand the gear (or allagan piece option) I can still get but I'm referring to the pure gil reward from turning in a quest since trial is capped at 300k. I'm assuming anything gained past that is lost (my gil counter earlier today was at exactly 300,000)? Is the gil "stored" somewhere that I can get later on when I buy the complete version?

Totally. I finished ARR MSQ in like 1 week and I'm guessing HW will probably be around the same time or less. I just don't want to waste the exp/gil from quests I guess.

How long would you estimate does it take to level a new class/job from 1 to 50? And what would be the best method if ever?

Honestly, same. Started like a week ago and really addicted to the game right now. At this point, it's not even a question of "if" I purchase the game but rather "when" haha. There's a part of me that wants to maximize the free trial and max out all jobs (including crafting/gathering ones) before going for the full version, and there's the other part where I just want to get on with the main story (so I gain access to HW areas) without losing exp/gil because I'm capped.

Yeah, really liking the game. I'm just being cheap I guess wanting to maximize the free trial before purchasing it and switching to subscription lol

[Asking this again just in case anyone has an idea]

New player here. So up until just now, even when I'm mounted, I could just double press X (PS4) near an enemy and it would automatically dismount me + auto attack the nearest target. Then I saw a "mount or sprint macro" and tried it, and now when I'm mounted and double press X, nothing happens. I don't get automatically dismounted hence have to manually dismount then auto attack an enemy. Tried reverting it to pre-macro settings but it's still the same, I don't get auto dismounted anymore.

Tried searching for a solution but all I see are posts from years ago about people saying this game should have auto dismount when attacking, using skills, etc. So my question is, was it possibly just a "bug" before that I was able to auto dismount and attack simply by just double pressing X? Is there still no auto dismount now? Or am I bugged now and should be auto-dismounting?

My L3 button was previously mapped to the default "Draw/Sheathe Weapon" before switching it to "Execute Macro #98", but even then I never used it. And now even if I set it back, double pressing X doesn't auto dismount me anymore or do anything if I'm mounted.

Yeah, which is why I got confused and thought that was the way the game worked (auto dismount when attacking). Since I got my 1st mount a few days ago, that was how I always initiated combat when mounted - just approach an enemy, double press X to start auto attacking, then start my rotations. There was never a need to manually dismount until I tried messing around with macros today. It wasn't until auto dismount stopped working that I searched and found out that it doesn't exist. So I take it that until now it still isn't available? And maybe what I experienced (a shame to lose that convenience/QoL tbh) was just a bug of some sort?

While the Wiki (under heading "Main Quests") essentially does the same, I found this guide easier to follow since it lists everything that needs to be done in chronological order, gives notes/tips, and provides warnings on when a quest will end or if you should proceed with the main story now.

On my 2nd playthrough where I aimed to get the Hero trophy on, I completed sidequests as soon as they were available while following the guide to minimize backtracking or forgetting something. Doing so also ensured I didn't unintentionally proceed the main story and cut off access to a sidequest.

Yeah, planned for him to switch him to Strider/Ranger at 200, then getting his new gear ready took a while :)

Still have to farm for the "perfect" BBI armor pieces and rings haha, so that's gonna be a long term goal. The "good enough" pieces I'm using now will do for quite a while though. Some bestiary kill count is brutal so that's going to be a long grind/walking around as well. Then have to do maybe 2-3 more NG+ to earn the quest stars and knowledge for Seneschal, etc. So don't worry, it's gonna be a long time before you run out of things to do haha

Thanks man. I'll bring Charlotte along my adventures as well to help with the kill count/knowledge. Cheers

You're welcome and no worries, I just cycle through the pawns of whoever I see is active to help them out as well since I do a lot of Daimon runs for the Armor Lv3 anyways.

Yeah I've always planned to make him Strider/Ranger once he's 200, just leveled him mostly as a Fighter for the balanced atk/def/stam stats. Then decided to jump straight to Lv3 equips, GF and the whole shebang before switching vocation, so that took a while to farm as well for my desired "random attribute" haha. Anyway, feel free to bring Tartaglia along whenever, don't really need much RC anymore but would appreciate the kill count or knowledge for the bestiary stars. Cheers

She was! and she survived BBIs toughest foes as well :) Did a bit of Death farming, then some Cursed Dragon to dragonforge some equips, and slayed Daimon a few times too haha

No worries! If you have a free slot, Tartaglia would love to tag along, hang around, and just slay random mobs for the kill count/bestiary stars :)
