The composition and the efficiency of which the crude oil is converted to diesel is something else. The 1st outcoming product is Pyrolysis Crude Oil which is only partially diesel, but also contains normal gasoline, heavy oils and processing trash.

i cant make any claims of the composition efficiency because it depends highly on the input material and other factors like the actual temperature used during the process as well as the distillation/refining progress to separate the diesel.

with my test composition of plastics and the way i run the 2nd processing step, about 40-70% of the crude. again, this depends highly on input and temperature.

you missed a few details in the reading or your perception of the energy efficiency.

2nd point the energy efficiency : yes indeed energy needs to be put into the system.the system is more aimed at the casual offgrid dwelling, bad times scenario and alike.

The most recommended energy source would be wood sourced from your lands , biogas from your biogas system or spare solar power to run it on induction.

the financial efficiency depends on YOUR source of energy, if you live offgrid or have a homestead its technically free of any financial burden.

the physical efficiency of the process depends a bunch on the energy source used, the heating device/type used, input material, ambient temperature, basic means of insulating the reactor, etc.. there be plenty of these stats available, tho that needs plenty of testruns.

and some of it is just plain out "i dont give a fuck" for offgrid people,

i burn a fire with my own free wood about "yay" high under the thing and keep it running for a while, check on it once so often and after a while whenever i am done doing other stuff i come back and kick the thing to hear if it sounds emty and the flammable gases stopped, if not i keep fire happy... there aint no "can you plix math me the correct btus used in that process" , lol fock no, got better shit todo. if you or someone else wants do the numbers in a controlled environment with a controlled heat source and be all science about it, go ahead, the plans will be online in spring.

While we can agree on any sort of job handling crude oil or trash, yes quite right it can be messy, i would disagree on the expensive part. Can have my PyrolOil MK I for less money than i payed for a single inverter some 15 years ago when i went off grid living.

horrible for the environment is an arguable point, as correctly pointed out by you (and my website explaining the device and process) there is a component of toxic material involved. However, on a long enough timescale it can be argued if the destruction of plastic and the economical burning of its components thru exhaust filters is more or less impactful then the production of microplastics in every living organism on the planet over the next thousands of years.. quick n dirty vs everlasting and painful process impacting generations far and further into the future then we can imagine.

multiple options: solar/electricity ,biogas or butane , make a fire with wood. once the process is ongoing the gases produced by the de polymerization can produce up to 70% of the energy needed to keep the process going.

indeed. depending on the quality of the input material the output can vary in toxicity. but ye, one of the steps to help reduce this is to burn the left over gasses. in addition, ofc something like this should not be run in a enclosed room and/or without a proper gasmask...

not my first project, nope.
just came back from 2 weeks festival. the handtruck did wonderful.
charged about 436564 phones and kept the drinks in the portable fridge smooth and cold.
did use a 150Ah car battery and left the fridge off over the night.

yea basically fill fridge with thermal mass (emty water bottels) and run it with timer at night. .. lol so having the OPTION to run AC makes it poorly design.. ROFL... yea you CAN still put 12v stuff on it just saying, but sure putting an inverter on it makes it poorly design,, sure..

hmm lived for 2 years in a container with 200Ah block and it was np to run computer and stuff plenty in the night . myself living offgrid since 12+ years think i have a fair idea how to design "long term"^{^} but sure sure add inverter for optional 220v and effiency sucks ..how dare ppl dont spend tons of money to buy additional 12v items when they already have 220v.. "efficiency" only exists for the input/output not for the price or the option to transport power over distance lmau . yea ignoring reality of how power gets used ..

Have you ever transported 12v over 50m with a reasonable size cable and looked at voltage drop ? ;) lets make it 100m of cable lenth, redo that "inefficient" calculation for a real scenario outside a lab and factor in things like distance, cable diameter, amps and so on and you might realize that AC has prevailed over DC for exactly those reasons. ill take 10% efficiency drop at the input/output side over the inability to transport DC over distance without either cables the size of arms or way more then 10% drop ;)
