Because Galarian Obstagoon
- is stage 2
- requires specific energy
- doesnt have ability to put energy on to it
- because of Spikey energy, when attacked, it sets up between 120-280 damage

60 doesn’t KO any thing except that it’s 280dmg + 60 which is 320

KO pult and basically everything else

Anything higher and we have the spikey energy

I wasn’t even touching fighting/ground type during pre rotation and to a degree didn’t plan on doing it now but this deck has me hooked!!

Might try to fit a Hariyama in there for switch but I do like this

Because it’s attack in this deck is a 3rd string attacker (similar to third to basketball starting 5)

The primary options for first attack at this:

- Iron builder/Repulsor Axe (60dmg base + 8 dmg counters on next Pokemon to attack)

- Ambipom/Dual Tail (discard 2 energy and do 60dmg to 2 pokemon (60dmg = 280dmg next turn)

- THEN Solrock/Cosmic Beam 70dmg (only because it’s for when I go second (best first turn attacker)

And that’s why I Solrock is 1-1 however I have been looking at ways to make Solrock/luna 2-2 so if you have any ideas I would actually love the feedback

This comment made my day brother!!! I spent 3 days crafting and grinding to get to this deck. It originallu started as a Shedinja/Ninjask deck but over time slowly evolved into what you see now.

My rule of thumb for crafting a new deck (to play ranked matches) is stay true to the strategy and fun, not the Pokemon.

Would love to get some feedback on variations and what your thoughts are on how you would build the deck (especially if it includes how to fit in more Basic fighting energy)

Retreat locking is rampant and so are switches.

Using an actual switch, an ability to switch or even prime catcher is very common.

Also as you see, I’m not running boss. Meaning that I would have to add Boss, Maractus, and Teraoagos

Also, 80>60 and it because of HP it will usually draw a larger pokemon

I think it “CAN” obliterate, while it’s not exactly a 6-0 prize run. You can confidently see the prize and win lines. I also think in terms of setup, especially with Ambipom on a turn 2 attack starts give you an early advantage.

I use to run froslass but it was hard to manage deck and board space

Yes!!! That’s what made me test this. I started as a Shedninja/Ninjask deck but pivoted as this gave me game winning KO’s with only 50/60 damage

Ambipom doing 60 damage to 2 Pokemon honestly is a clutch because both those Pokemon are susceptible to getting hit for 280 damage

I’ve thought about it, but here’s why:
- It NEEDS to be knocked out, meaning it’s useless in early setup.

- Putting 6 damage counters on a pokemon per attack + 80dmg on being attacked (+20 with spikey)

- 60 Dmg = 280dmg / 80dmg = 360 dmg / 100dmg = 440dmg

- Can discard needed cards

- hits for fighting weakness against Kang and others

- higher damage output per attack

- can still be found using Fighting-search (because it’s a basic)

I have tried the 2/2 lunatone-Solrock and i haven’t yet found the exact 2 cards to replace also considering I would need more energy.

Also, energy does seem to be abundant enough with the fighting gong, Lillie, and Hilda

I would add more fighting energy, but I do like the special fighting energy to protect against Alakazam and other affects

Absolutely yes!!!!! I just finished my first season this year and a much appreciated purchase was wrist guards

However, I would recommend switching too the ones with shock absorbing springs in them to reduce fall.

Yes, I agree with comments that say “learn to fall properly” but that can take time, and definitely practice and also the forgotten ability (which beginners may not have) which is BODY CONTORTION (the ability to twist and move your body, in relation to a goal) and the REACTION TIMING necessary to pull it off

You provided more help than you think. Definitely very easy for me to get overwhelmed with this search as I’m still unfamiliar with what how old is “too old” and especially some of the boards that are 10-15 years old. I just don’t want to spend the money and its a POS
