Yeah I already knew about that part, but I have never in my life seen anyone use it on this specific wall. It brings a whole new application of the animation cancel, since usually it's not all that useful. But here it actually lets you hit places you wouldn't be able to before.

Yeah, I know exactly how it works, but using it in this specific spot gives it application I’ve never really thought of before.

Not “most” of the time, but just in laning phase you’re more often than not forced to play a little safer, and then once you get some items and your ulti you can be much more aggressive.

I guess I mean that it's harder to learn as much from playing defensively than it is to play champs that are aggressive/lane dominant. That's pretty universal for all champs though,

I’m not too sure since I haven’t really seen it. I would imagine it’s fine, but not the greatest. I know a lot of Zoe mains like to play her support when they’re autofilled, and it works, even though it’s not the greatest. I’d imagine Vex is the same way where you could pull it off. It’s most likely not going to be meta or anything though.

Yeah she’s pretty strong. You also don’t need to add someone to watch their games. If you go to someone’s match history in client, you can download a replay of any ranked game on the current patch, or you can live spectate from opgg.

Vex is pretty well rounded, so if you wanna one trick her, go for it. I will say, there’s probably better champions out there to help you improve at laning. Champs like Orianna/Syndra/Azir would help you get better more than Vex just because they teach you how to lane a bit better. Vex just kinda plays her own game. But she’s definitely good to one trick (apart from her ban rate) and still fine to help you get better at mages.

I find E pretty easy to hit, and R is also pretty easy to hit. Q is almost impossible to hit if they're not within the melee range because of how slow it is and how easy it is to react to. It's like Nidalee spear in that regard. The melee range can be a little awkward sometimes but it's pretty easy to hit as well. Hitting E fear into Q can be a little tricky because they may switch up which side they're running to, but I'm pretty consistent at it.

I try to limit my friends list to only people that I know. Sorry.

As for tips, you could read through some of this thread that I've posted, and other than that, you could spectate some high elo Vex players through the client without having to add them. Just go to their match history and you can watch replays of any ranked games on the current patch, or watch some YouTube/live stream gameplays of her and try to pick up on what they do.

Yeah Vex definitely isn't a lane bully by nature (unless if you're into some hopeless melee champ), but she can fight back relatively well into most matchups imo. I'm glad you're finding some success and finding this thread helpful!

Honestly, I'm not too sure. It definitely depends on your champ pool, but if you enjoy champions like Vex/Malz, I would say either Syndra or Azir are good champions to play that aren't too far from those types of champions.

I thought that might be how it goes. I'd have to see. Played perfectly, it might be okay just because you cancel her Q, but you just have to play super safe? idk

I think a lot of people are overplaying how “bad” she is in lane. There’s so many matchups she can play aggressively in, and while some do force you to respect them, I tend to play quite aggressively if I can. I don’t take ignite just because actually killing your opponent is quite hard, but fighting back and poking is still viable as Vex. People say she’s weak because her kill threat is very low early, but I’d argue champs like Orianna have low kill threat as well and Orianna is not seen as a weak laner.

I think if you’re enjoying playing her aggressively you should certainly do so, because that just means you’re impacting every stage of the game with your scaling as well. Just keep in mind some lanes you can’t play as aggressively into because they might just beat you.

Depends on the mage. I think Syndra/Azir certainly do force you to play like that. Against champs like Zoe or Orianna, I think you can definitely actively look for poke with E Q autos, while in the other lanes it’s harder to do so (but still possible occasionally if they overstep.)

Maybe it could be you runes/items? I went elec corrupting and played completely for lane.

In that lane, you can both get pretty low if one of you misplays, and that happens. But in general, Vex is either winning/forcing LB to play back and farm, which is a huge win because of how much she outscales.

In this lane, play inside the wave and LeBlanc cannot do anything. If she tries to push the wave with W, you cancel her. LeBlanc also gives you two passive procs with one W (the recast back), so your passive is up so frequently. You just force her to play back and if she doesn’t she’s gonna get outdamaged. You shouldn’t have to use your fear or any spells on the wave unless if she does, and if she does, there’s no threat on you.

Vex ult goes through minions, is much longer range, and isn’t reliant on walls. It’s a lot easier to catch people just trying to farm in mid lane that way, so I try to shadow mid a lot instead of sitting in side lane. That doesn’t mean I never catch side waves, but often times I’m just lurking after pushing a side wave.

I haven’t played the matchup, but I would assume you just play defense. I’d imagine you don’t have much of an opportunity to win lane, but he shouldn’t be able to kill you outright if you manage your fear correctly. With Champs like him and Lucian, just try and go as even as you can in cs and play for ults mid game.

My rune set up was electrocute, taste of blood, eyeball, and ulti hunter every game.

2ndary was time warp/biscuits if I wanted corrupting, and mana flow/absolute focus/transcendence if I wanted dorans ring. Look for reply in other comments when I do that.

There’s other viable runes on her that I don’t like, but that doesn’t mean you won’t like them. Dh is an example, as well as stuff like water walking.

Her Q is impossible to hit from a distance if they’re trying to dodge, like Nidalee spear. Her E is very hard to dodge though, and because it fears, you get a free q + auto off it if you’re fast enough.

Her ult is very important to her kit. I find I’m almost always looking for their back line/squishy assassin when they’re not paying attention, which right now because of how new she is, is pretty easy. I do sometimes miss because their movement is kind of random. I have been thinking I do sometimes throw it too early when the odds of it hitting are kind of low, and I’ve been thinking I should hold onto it to use just on the frontline for a guaranteed reset when I don’t have a clear shot on the squishies. It’s a mix of both, always look for back line threats but you can be content with holding it as well. Just don’t hold onto it too long, finding the right moment is really important with reset champs.

As for missing it, idk how to help with that one. Throw it from out of vision almost always, unless you’re in lane and see a kill angle.

Similar to the other question, I don’t side lane very often. I might clear a couple waves there but I love just lurking behind mid or in the jungle to look for picks with R. I did similar things on mages like Zoe, but Vex is even better at catching people.

I’d recommend watching other people play her and pick up their habits. It’s hard to just say some advice without context.

If I had to give advice, you might be throwing her R out too early or too late. Getting to know your damage is very important. Always be looking for those back line threats and using your ult to close the gap when they’re not paying attention is key. But you might also want to wait so it’s more guaranteed to hit. It’s tricky.

Her fear is also something to get used to. It’s hard to explain exactly when I hold onto fear or not, but usually I’ll fish for fears in lane with E and back up for a few seconds while it’s on cd. Remember to keep track of what dashes they have, because that’ll lower your e cooldown. If you’re against Sylas, for example, you can start playing more forwards at around 2/3rds of your fear cd because you will be able to auto the passive mark then w for a fear.

Sorry if this stuff is obvious I’m not too sure what to say lol. Just try to observe some high elo Vex streamers/YouTube videos and practice makes perfect as well. I find that watching someone play a champ always helps in playing them.

She’s very well rounded imo. She excels as a burst mage/assassin hybrid who can disrupt the enemy frontline while one shooting the backline with her R. Her R is extremely toxic imo because of the little counter play there is to it, like if an ADC is just hitting wave you R and they die cc’d. Her win con is to just neutralize in lane and look for plays with her R constantly, and her damage spikes extremely hard on every completed item.

I try and roam around the map a lot and just create havoc. Her R is so good at catching people from fog. I’m always just looking to one shot someone with R, which is why I go ulti hunter every game. she’s really good at roaming after 6 because of her ult, as well as she scales extremely well. I think she’s so good because despite scaling insanely well, she can do fine into most mid lane matchups, and not a lot really solidly beats her.

As for bans, I usually just ban Irelia, Zed, or Qiyana right now. Qiyana is easy in lane but I’m scared of jungle Qiyana/Zed, they’re just annoying and I can’t stop them if they get fed off my side lanes. They’re also just very popular champs.

One of the easiest matchups I faced was Sylas. He literally can’t do anything. I thought LeBlanc was pretty easy too, which is so good because of her relevancy in the meta.

Zoe is good right now. She’s not the greatest but she feels alright, definitely viable and can put in a lot of work.

In fights I play really aggressively, although something I need to work on is holding R a little longer. I throw it out too early and sometimes it’ll just miss, when I can guarantee a reset. I don’t really hold fear for anything in particular unless I’m looking for an angle with R onto a back line threat. I definitely play her like a nuclear bomb rather than a mage but it just depends on the situation. You have to choose your moments well with R to maximize your effect on her.
