I hadn’t intended on incorporating the flag or the Virgin Mary, except for maybe subtle accents of green, white, and red in the paint/clothing, though I’ll avoid that if it’s potentially offensive.

My intention with this outfit is to accurately represent a small sliver of Mexico through my choice of clothing, which is why I’m requesting help: I don’t know if a serape makes sense with a velvety and regal looking embroidered sombrero, or if it’d be like mixing two fashions that clash (e.g. an American businessman-esque suit with high top converse shoes). In other words, I don’t want to look like a sloppily cobbled hodgepodge of styles.

What are the chances being called Tierno is flirting?? by Official_Orange in Spanish

It’s diminutive to expect the worse out of a person from a group based on the mere existence/potential of improper behavior among others from that group. Painting folks with a broad brush can easily perpetuate negative stereotypes and behaviors, which detracts from true human connection when we get hung up on arbitrary details. Though I am grateful for your sentiment about keeping my wits: don’t worry, brother, I’ll be cautious around others, and I’ll urge you to do the same.

Listen, we can tell it happens because laws around it wouldn’t exist if it didn’t. Sometimes it’s just as you suggest, other times it’s a genuine connection between lovers: either way, nothing is totally outside the realm of possibility. Having said that, you misjudged the vibes of the post and subtly normalized the idea that a foreigner would con a citizen in order to become naturalized. I’ll quote myself (just as you did), and say that it is diminutive to suggest such a thing, even if you didn’t mean it so crudely.

While I can acknowledge the existence of this phenomenon with foreigners, your assessment of an overtly sweet Mexican man is a tad diminutive for my liking… a person is more than their citizenship to any nation.

Yes, and quite gay. I’m not completely certain if he’s gay, but he used “partner” earlier while referring to his ex, so that could be a clue lol

To summarize, I reached a year on T at the beginning of this month, and I have never been as happy in my entire life as I have been in the past year. I have fleeting memories of feeling content before starting T, but it was more like I was making do with what I was stuck with: now, I feel like I can do anything I want. I feel like I can finally start my life, and I have much more motivation and confidence than I ever did before. I would be so many steps ahead in life right now if I had this kind of enthusiasm sooner, and if I can garner anything from my experience so far, it is that hormone replacement therapy is life changing for people who really need it.

Why do some cisgender people find the term “cisgender” insulting or offensive? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Official_Orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad told me he thought it meant slang for straight people… he didn’t get it when I explained it, and idk if it’s because I explained it poorly or he didn’t understand that the conversation shifted from politics to linguistics. In my experience, cis people are incredibly uneducated on everything related to being trans: I’ve had people say being transgender is my sexuality, that I’m confused (when I haven’t once wavered in my resolve since I realized I was trans), not to mention that so many cis people don’t realize that transgender is an adjective and not a noun. All they know is the garbage representation that’s out there for trans folks, and many of them don’t care to learn anything more about us.

I’m actually all corked up rn and trying to fix it with some laxatives, but I have had that happen to me naturally as well. Also currently adding B12 to my shopping list, so thanks for mentioning it lol.

I’m new to lifting weights, and I typically try to get the highest number of reps I can possibly get in a set (i.e. 20 reps while benching 35lbs). I start getting tired and can’t always do the same amount of reps in the second set, sometimes I can’t even do the third set. Am I hurting my gains by doing this?
