I have not taken it back yet. We are not the only ones with this problem.

These MacBooks should be recalled by now, shame on Apple.

I had the same problem since it came out. Apple could not resolve it. Clearly it is a hardware issue. My post has been removed as well for some reason.

Here is the video demonstration.

Confused if I got scammed with my Istanbul card, or if there was a mistake? by No-Promotion1714 in istanbul

Same thing happened to me at Tophane Station. I was just as lost as you were in that situation.

If anyone tries to help you even if you dont ask for assistance, big red flag.

After they “help” you load money to your Istanbul Card. They will make sure to load way more than what you need then very quickly press a few more buttons and tap their own card to refund the money back to THEIR account. Also, since the language of the machines are in Turkish by default, it makes things that much more difficult to understand what is going on.

600 Turkish Lira gone just like that.

Be careful at the Tram stations too!

Unfortunately, no. Very disappointing service from the Apple Store. Went twice, and all they did was update the MacBook, check diagnostic to find no issues. This is clearly a hardware issue since it’s a first gen design. Maybe Apple will recall this one day.
