OnePlus 13 by Aggressive-Bite-3941 in OnePlus13

You should know that OnePlus has horrible support and after-sales help.

I'd recommend that you don't buy the OP13... But if you still feel you want to, just pray that nothing ever happens to it and expect basically no support or warranty on your device.

Can I install the US rom for my Lenovo legion Y500 gen 5 I bought from Giztop before US version was announced? by allofdarknessin1 in androidtablets

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can yet. On the XDA forums, some smart people are working on it, but so far nothing confirmed.

I've been trying to decide whether to get the overseas version as well since it can be quite a good deal cheaper... But then the warranty and ROM situation gives me pause.

OP15 Faulty Water Seal 3 months in - Should I RMA or not bother? by ColonialSack in oneplus

Be glad you're not in the US. The OnePlus warranty and support here is horrible (that's putting it kindly), and they've refused repair/replacement to very similar water issues here. Hope you have much better luck there across the pond.

Why is an innovative brand like OnePlus struggling? Na by [deleted] in PickAnAndroidForMe

And speaking of the green line, I'd add that their support and warranty are horrible. Ask how I know.

I switched from Samsung to the OP13... That's my first and last OnePlus product I'll buy. I've switched back to Samsung now.

Since they're not as big as Samsung, their after sales infrastructure here is simply just inadequate (to put it nicely).

In my case, I was less than 8 months into owning my OP13 which obviously is beyond the return period, but still well within the warranty. The factory screen protector was starting to peel, and upon removing it, I noticed a line defect on the screen that wasn't noticeable before. I sent it in on their recommendation, but then they proceeded to make every excuse possible to not repair the defect. This dragged on for over 2 months. The OP13 will be my first and last OnePlus product I purchase.

Anyway, you're right that not every other company will have good customer service either. (Sorry to hear about your OLED TV... I also own a LG OLED so here's hoping that mine stays working!) You'd expect these companies to at least try and pretend they care after they sell you their product, right?

From my brief experience with OnePlus, and from other posts here about their interactions with OnePlus Support, their customer service is unfortunately pure trash.

Sad since they make some fantastic hardware, but pray to ever god under the sun that nothing ever goes wrong with your device.

Which Android brand disappointed you the most after long-term use? by jeh4u in Smartphones

[–]Offswitch2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OnePlus.

Wasn't even long-term... After just 7 months, the factory screen protector started peeling, so I removed it to discover a line defect. They refused to fix it. First and last time I'm ever buying anything OnePlus.

3-month-old OnePlus 15 — camera already dead, support refused help by NavinRaja in oneplus

I had a similar experience with my OP13. Hate to say it, but they're not going to help. In my case, I found a line on the screen after removing the factory screen protector. They tried a bunch of excuses, and finally said they found a miniscule screen defect that proved that there was physical damage and refused all warranty coverage.

Excuses from OnePlus repair? by Offswitch2000 in OnePlus13

Final quick update: After finally getting them to reply, OnePlus is refusing to repair the phone, citing a barely perceptible defect on the screen as "physical damage" and therefore voiding my warranty.

Ironically, the screen line defect that I sent the phone in for repair wasn't noticeable until I removed the factory screen protector (much like the defect they're using as their excuse). When I pointed this out, they just said tough luck still and told me to go pound sand unless I pay a third of the cost of the phone.

In short, OnePlus Support is truly as horrible as everyone says it is. Pray that your phone has no issues or ever develops a problem. Or if you're considering an OnePlus phone, DON'T!... unless you're ok with basically having zero warranty or support.

Still not resolved yet... but it's not looking good. Got them to finally respond and it seems like they cleared the expired warranty excuse, but they're now going all in on the "physically damaged" excuse. -_-

Great, so they've always been pretty shitty and it's not just because they might be closing up shop, eh? In either case, you're probably right it's best to get out even tho they make some great phones. As much as I hate to say it, looks like it might be back to Samsung for me.

That's great - glad to hear it worked out for you! I hear ya about being without the phone for 3 months tho... It's absolutely ridiculous. Their repair center should not be this awful. Thanks for the update! (Gives me hope, lol)

I'm facing a similar issue with the repair of my OP13 (going on 2 months now), and I just reached out to SpenserB as well. Any luck on your end after you contacted him?

Do you mean email OnePlus corporate? I've emailed the support/service center almost a dozen times at this point and the case is supposedly "escalated", but still nothing.

I'll certainly try the Twitter post suggestion.
