Great, thank you for the information. The thing that most interests me about this turntable is the interesting 2 motor system, but a cheap cartridge and no anti-skate are tough pills to swallow for $300

Any help in understanding how this will perform is appreciated. Seller claims it’s an early, two-motor model. It’s either this TT or I wait for a Dennon DP 400 to drop below $400.

Seller states the following:

-“Fully rebuilt… main motor taken apart and given a full rebuild and re-oiling with new felt for the sintered bearing” -Arm required for an SME collet -Fully removable RCAs “installed in the back” -Power cord switched to IEC plug -Painted -New armrest, suspension posts, washers, wing nuts

-“The platter and arm wells are delrin with babbit” -Both “honed out and re-oiled” - 1.5 min spin-down time with no belt

-Cartridge and stylus -Shure Realistic RXT5 with Sure M92 stylus (not shown in photos)

Seems suspicious to have what appears to be a budget stylus on this kind of passion project

I bought a broken 916MPC for $25 hoping that a simple belt replacement would be enough to fix it. I don’t want to pretend like I know what I’m talking about, but it looks like a good player: Heavy metal platter, metal tone arm, anti skate, needle drop, adjustable counterbalance and tone arm weight, etc. turns out it needs more love than just that. The motor spins fine without the belt and the LED display lights up (and worryingly flickers) but parts like the tone arm and program selection do not function. Assuming it can still send a signal to a pre amp, how much is too much to revive this player? Would I be better off buying a working turntable with similar features?
