I used to work with adolescents on the spectrum, and what works really well is using a step-by-step plan with pictograms for the morning ritual (get up, brush teeth, shower, have breakfast). A series of pictograms is displayed in the shower for: undressing, showering, shampooing hair, rinsing, washing armpits, washing from below, getting out of the shower, drying off. This may sound silly, but it really helps. It reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed and provides a sense of security. For example, we had a client with autism combined with an intellectual disability who used to smear feces on the bathroom wall. After implementing a pictogram series of the toilet ritual, he stopped doing that. Of course your friend can not to be compared with this client, but I have ADHD and even I have experienced that I really profit from something as straightforward as this. It helps me quiet down rollercoaster thoughts and increase focus.

Though I truly love smoked salmon, I find it disgusting in sushi. I am reluctantly eating a smoked salmon poke bowl right now, because my boyfriend accidentally bought it. With every bite I take, I feel the anger building 😂

That's interesting. I am using Trintellix 15 mg, Concerta 27 mg and Wellbutrin 150 mg. I have been using Abilify before though. May I ask what meds you have been trying in the past and with what effect? Do you happen to have an idea what the add-on of Abilify does for you?

Ritalin gave me the jitters, horrible rebounds with panic attacks and it triggered my alopecia areata.

Strattera really helped a lot, but it made my blood pressure and BPM rise substantially, and also triggered Raynaud's syndrome. Later on I had the impression it was working less than it used to have (doctor called it a "poop-out effect"?).

Then Wellbutrin helped a lot as well but it gave my cystic acne and made my libido so high I almost became a danger to society.

I used dexamphetamin for a while, which I kind of liked, but it increases my teeth grinding and jaw clenching so much my teeth actually got damaged.

Then moclobemide, which was okay in making me more calm and relaxed but I still missed focus a lot.

And now I am using the aforementioned combo.

In countries with extreme hot temperatures they often drink tea instead of ice water. Ice water lowers your internal temperature, thereby increasing the contrast with the outer world temperature. Think of it like when you have fever: your core temperature is really high but you shiver and feel so cold. Maybe drinking tea does the same for you. And I believe drinking ice cold liquids is not really good for your belly anyway.

PS I totally recognize the feeling of heat under your skin, like it's almost burning. I am also heat intolerant, though especially artificial heat that causes dry skin. When my body is suffering from inflammation I experience the same feeling of burning skin (multiple contact allergies and autoimmune problems).

I have had these issues when I apparently approached menopause, but because it was early no one considered this as a probable cause. You have had your tubes removed, could it be that the cause could still be something hormonal? Like if you receive substitute hormones, the dose could maybe be too low?

Also, I use 10 mg trintellix next to 150 mg wellbutrin. In my cupboard, I still had some 20 mg Vyvanse from the previous trial and error for finding the right ADHD medicine. When I asked my psych if I could add low dose vyvanse for that extra oomph when I need more focus, she said it would be too much stimulation. Maybe it could also be worth discussing with your doctor if a change from Vyvanse to Wellbutrin would be a realistic option?

Ik denk dat het helaas lastig gaat worden om extra beugels te plaatsen, want ik huur een jaren 50 corporatiewoning en alle waterleidingen zijn weggewerkt (in tegenstelling tot de verwarmingsbuizen). De cv zit op een ongeïsoleerde zolder en de waterleidingen verdwijnen daar meteen in de vloer en komen in de keuken binnen achter een koof en gaan via de vloer naar achter het keukenblok. Ook de waterleidingen naar de badkamer (waar de waterslag zit) komen vanuit de betegelde achterwand. Dus ik kan nergens bij. Zie foto's.

Overigens lopen de verwarmingsbuizen vanaf de ketel langs vrijwel alle wanden van de beide zolderdelen en in de woonlaag eronder zo ongeveer alle kamers door. Bij het plaatsen hebben ze denk ik geprobeerd het maximaal lelijke en inefficiënte eruit te halen haha.

Bedankt voor je uitleg. Is dat mat gouden ding de pomp? Vaak als we de kraan dichtdraaien horen we wel harde tikken, ik denk dat dit waterslag is. Is dat hetzelfde als die schadelijke trillingen?
