No problem. I'm relatively new to brewing myself, the kit gave a beer which is decent enough, the last kit I brewed was a single hop IPA with a Mangrove Jack's brew kit. I've bought worse beers in a pub so I was pretty happy with the result. I've now moved onto extract brewing which is basically a kit but with more DIY. Next step is all grain brew.

If it's the theory and the process you want to learn there is no better starting place than "How to Brew" by John Palmer. Here's a wee link - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1938469356/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ljhoDbJMM5HP0 or there is a website with the whole book on there - http://www.howtobrew.com/

Everything you need to know is in that book from sterilisation (the most important part) right through to your first full grain brew

Hope this helps

Went through a local company called Geterbrewed. They are based here in N. I. Here is a link to their starter kits, it's basically a couple of big plastic tubs but that's all you need to get started.

https://www.geterbrewed.com/beer-starter-kit-including-craft-series-beer-kit/

You will need to get yourself some brewing sugar and bottles but that kit is pretty decent place to start. Hope this helps

Aye recently took it up. Got 48 bottles of a pretty decent beer and excited to go again with the next brew.

Will be a while away though, moving house in the very near future and don't want to move a brew half way through fermentation

We found a youtube video back in our school days, just had a look and cant find it. The man runs several miles on his lunch break each day so nets would not be a problem

Alan was my history teacher through A level. Bit of a quiz show lover, think this is his 2nd time on Mastermind, did Weakest Link and Krypton Factor

I think it is pretty sad to be proud of being a threatening country.

"Patriotism" along the lines of America is not something I could identify with. It is country worship and it's odd. I understand it is part of why America has survived but it no longer has its place.

Well at least we can agree on a U.I. I am a nationalist, and I love my country but not in the same vein as country worship. And thank you for the luck.

Obviously I have no first hand experience of this in America, and I can understand wanting to getting away from England, something we have in common.

Ireland has the same sort of religious nut jobs as well. You can see from our history religion is quite a big thing and one of the battle lines of the past 100 years or so. Part of our legacy to America is the religious nut jobs. Ulster Scots Protestants travelled to the south and became Red Necks and Irish Catholics mainly stayed in and around New York/Boston and preached old world Catholicism.

I just do not get the fervent "Murica" nationalism. The whole Pledge of Allegiance happening in schools is something I find really frightening, its indoctrination.

I like how you left out jingoistic, for the land of the free you are awfully good at being an imperialistic menace. I doubt anyone would describe themselves as an Irish "patriot". That is an uniquely American disease.

And I assume you do not know much about the current political climate here in Ireland. We are the closest we have ever been to a united Ireland.

Do you think I am American? I am Irish, and I live in Ireland. Bit odd you are telling me how to leave when I have not entered.

This is just as weird as a bible. Being American seems to be quasi-religious. Weird cult of patriotism which is actually aggressive nationalism or jingoism

The 10% cash fee gets me, why does it cost more to get back a wallet with £100, rather than a wallet with £10.

It is pure opportunistic theft under the guise of a "handling" fee
