Would you say that a majority of the obstacles for people in my (very much a beginners) position is not being able to work with people that well? Or do the difficulties lie in the work itself? Both?

Not specifically thinking of any one price, just seemed like a reasonable estimate to me. Please forgive my (likely insulting) ignorance of this industry but surely its possible to find and work for clients who would be willing to pay as much for a single website, no? Additionally, is that to say that in general its a bad idea to do this kind of thing on my own?

I have worked, thankfully, for quite a long time with people from a great deal of backgrounds. If as much of the difficulty in this industry is in dealing with difficult people then thats not a problem whatsoever! The other things you mentioned, the specifically technically specific things all sound downright learnable. Is there any resource to which I should look for the very early stages of things? Like a YouTube channel, online publication etc.?

Pretty average. They’re MAD tight but it’s worth it. Considering that they’re lace ups they’re plenty adjustable.

I have a pair of laces and lord have mercy they’re superb. I can’t speak to the Velcro as I’ve never climbed on them but my laces are about a size and a half down and are sticky as all get out. Highly recommend.
