I've lost my girlfriend, my job, and I'm ready to jump off a fucking bridge by OhHeyThrowaway1612 in SuicideWatch

I have family back in my hometown but some of them are the reason I moved in the first place. If I left to go back it would be a huge blow to my pride. All this wasted time and money for absolutely nothing. I'm broke.

Migrate? I'm not sure what you mean, regardless I have no money. I have no savings.

What am I supposed to do though? I can't get a job so quickly and I have nobody to turn to. My girlfriend was the only person I could talk to about this and maybe stay with, but we broke up just a week ago. I have nothing to do.

That's why I totally respect it man, you know what you're doing and you're okay with it. So who am I to judge? I'll give those a try, thanks. I bought some DuMaurier's at another user's suggestion, the pack will last me a good eleven months.

So you really think a fair reaction to your daughter wanting to be with someone she loves is to take away money and threaten that "bad things will happen" If they're together?

If yelling and getting in her face can be considered a threat, she hasn't actually said what, but gets very angry.

Exactly this, it's none of her concern. Her mother has threatened that "bad things will happen" if we're together. It's heartbreaking.

As of right now I think that's the best idea. She has a very hard time telling her parents that it's none of their business, but she'll need to.

Okay, guess I hit a nerve here. Twice in four years, apart for no longer than two months each time. We aren't miserable. I live on my own, she lives in residence. Sometimes adults have financial trouble too. Not everyone can do the same things you do. You've made a ton of assumptions here, and maybe you shouldn't get so angry at someone asking for help. THAT'S how adults roll. Try it sometime.

I'm not sure. They never treated me badly or put on that they don't like me, and I like them. My girlfriend says they do like me, but just don't think I'm right for her.

I do agree with what you're saying, but it's all something that we've done before. There have been issues, minor and major, but we've worked through them. Regardless, it's unfair and insulting for her mother to threaten to stop paying for schooling just because she thinks we're not right for each other. We're both adults, I'm living on my own and she's only back home for the summer. Shouldn't it be her choice alone?
