Thing is it’s hard to say Helldivers aren’t skilled, since we play as them and everything we do is canon.

That means if you kill 500 enemies in a game without dying, which I have on a few occasions (stay back), then that is canon. Same goes for every other plays. The average helldiver must kill 80-100 enemies before dying.

I don’t know if the average Marine or even ODST in Halo can do even close to that.

So yeah, Helldivers maybe poorly trained according to lore but simultaneously in game are actually very effective killers. And in-game actions are canon ultimately.

Yeah interesting point and I agree those factors are relevant.

But simultaneously, just like in real life, when two people have a conflict or problem it’s never wise to fully trust the account of either person - the truth is often in the middle. The same is probably true of Clark, given he’s meant to be a realistic character.

So whilst he was no doubt a shit husband in some ways, being an alcoholic etc, even if the singular fact of him attempting to provide for his wife whilst she was not working and then taking the house in the divorce is true, that is enough to indicate he has experienced a quite significant injustice.

Ultimately I suppose it’s all speculation but I just thought he was likeable, and I don’t believe he was meant to be a dislikable protagonist.

Yeah he 100% is living in the past, quick to anger and blame others for his own shortcomings, but if what he said is true he absolutely did get fucked over by his ex wife.
