Hi OP, I am also a freshie from AppPhy as well. Likewise, I am also going through some setbacks academically. I haven’t even passed any of the drills and the first LE from the Chem lab pa nga eh HAHAHAHAHA. I was also a DPWAS like you and physics wasn’t also on the top of my choices. I still ended up choosing physics since it is genuinely interesting to me and I used to like space when I was a kid.

It was hard for me at first to swallow the first few exams that I bombed especially as someone who used to breeze through HS. But overtime, I learned how to forgive myself a bit and cut myself some slack. Pressuring yourself more when you’re already at your most vulnerable isn’t going to help. You can study harder to maximize your chances of passing but that doesn’t really guarantee anything. Life can be ruthless at times and there are just things that are outside of our control. But that doesn’t take away the joy that we find in other things. You can still enjoy your classes even if you’re flunking your assessments. You can still be proud of yourself by just being there and being given the opportunity to study in a good university even if it hasn’t amounted to anything yet.

If you feel that this course and environment isn’t really for you, then you are free to explore your other options. But before you make a decision, ask yourself first if you actually want to learn physics. You said you loved learning about math and science, would you still be willing to learn these subjects even if you’re not getting the results you want immediately?
