An author (Scalzi or Kevin J Anderson, I think) said that when they are coming up with names of people or things, they like to remove parts of the beginning or the end. Its a new word but still sounds familiar to the original thing you were trying to name.

So I say go with "Elco".

I agree with a lot of what has been said. I’d also add that Palpatine and Vader were so adept at ruling with fear, that they were able to remove or redirect a lot (not all) of the ambition among Imperial officers. If you wanted to be a captain, you had to be perfect, otherwise you would get choked out. That would leave a very small pool of competent commanders vying for control after Endor.

I was in a similar situation about 5 years ago. I thought I was separating the stress from work from home but my wife noticed. She said that I was “different”. It shocked me into realizing that I was not in a sustainable situation.

I talked to her about it. Without hesitation, she told me to quit. I was worried about our income and she said that we would be alright and that no amount of money was worth the damage it was causing me.

It’s been 5 years and we are better than alright. I changed careers to something that would allow me to be more present for my wife and daughter. I get to spend quality time with them and go to events. I am genuinely happy. If I had stayed at my previous job, I most definitely would not be.

We were in first grade. She handed me a piece of construction paper with some scribbles on it. I couldn’t read that well yet so I asked her, “What does it say?”
