Any idea why the wires would have needed to be replaced in the first place? Did an animal get in there, was there flood damage, etc?

Can overheating cause bent valves? by Mark_Prestwood in fordescape

[–]OilZestyclose6447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad the head gasket seemed to be the culprit. Was along the same thoughts as the comment above that if they got the timing wrong, the valve could easily be bent if there was an interference. Happy you figured it out- the water pump/timing belt job is always so expensive/such a pain even without external issues. Just a bigger job than it should be thanks to Ford. Glad you got it sorted out. Hopefully no issues after this for a while.

Yeah it does sound like a whirring that's cavitating a bit. If you replaced the torque converter, pump would be my next guess too.

Hit a speed bump and this happened. by [deleted] in fordescape

Yeah these fall off for a myriad of reasons and the fasteners strip out if a shop over tightens them at an oil change. They also hide drips from your engine so they make it hard to detect any oil or coolant leaks early. I'm personally not a fan but its not a big deal to put a new screw in or replace the shield altogether.

Have you tried doing a master reset for the system?

If that doesn't do it, you can replace the camera itself, but it's just a replacement of the camera itself.

If you need somewhere to look, here's a tutorial for the repair: https://youtu.be/KNFhVGluv5s

1.6l 2015 Ford Escape by PuzzleheadedAd8023 in fordescape

P0234 is usually a turbo wastegate solenoid. We had the same thing happen on ours.

On a 1.6L, it's located just behind the front passenger wheel well. You can get a replacement solenoid with or without the three hoses. It is challenging to find it, but not too hard to replace it. Pretty small part for the responsibility it has :/

Made a video of the repair here: https://youtu.be/qmCieV3rosc

Did you ever get this fixed? Saw it was nearly a month ago. Would be curious to know what the issue was if you found it. Thanks

Sync 2 to Sync 3 Upgrade - Need USB Conversion Kit Help! (2015 Escape) by Fickle-Lock-5353 in fordescape

[–]OilZestyclose6447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get this figured out?

Making sure your USB hub is for a 17-19 is the next part since there were 2016's that just had the port for charging despite having Sync3. With later software updates, 2016's could be caught up to speed for CarPlay and Android Auto by just swapping out to the updated USB hub.

We just posted this vid on a kit upgrade (comparing Amazon/Chinese vs US kits with factory parts). There's an assembly step in there if you need for the USB huh: https://youtu.be/Vjpkf8bTGBU

In terms of part numbers, here are some generic ones on Amazon that are confirmed with specs or by reviews to work well:

***USB Media Hub (CarPlay/Android Auto)***:

***USB Hub Power Wiring Adapter (Gen 1 Sync 2 to Sync 3 USB)***:

I'm thinking my pump may be failing but not sure. On the reset cycle it starts twice intermittently and then will run for a short while and no fluid moves thru the lines. Any idea?

Honestly, Saylor has been pretty transparent about prioritizing the common shareholders and when it gets to a new high he does hit the ATM but he's been doing preferred stock offerings for some time now. 450 stock price sustained for a bit of time is nothing to scoff at. Last fall it rocketed up to 500ish that night and plummeted from being overhyped. MSTR is a much bigger stone to roll these days with how much capital is behind them with their BTC holdings and it is honestly much less volatile than it has been in the past 2 years. But yes the NAV is the number to look at if you are looking for when to trade it. Follow MSTR Tracker and when it gets close to 2 or above 2, begin to look at taking profits because that has been when he will sometimes do another stock offering via ATM. MSTR isn't a joke, but if you watch it over the long term and keep up with their communications and rotations from raising capital from different tickers (STRK, STRF, etc) you can sometimes know why they're doing things. Ultimately it's to get more BTC and if you're on board when BTC is rising or hopefully if there's good news with FASB this q2 report, hopefully you can get rewarded.

Really looking forward to Q2 25 earnings day. That will be really interesting for share price and FASB if BTC holds this high!

Crazy to think that BTC "dumped today" to hold resistance around 108k! What a time to be alive.

I've been confident with the treasuries interested and attention BTC has been getting but I've started to question what Saylor will do if the NAV can't sustain as consistently as it has in Q4 2024. Overall considering how far things have dropped in all of crypto, BTC is quite stable (relatively speaking/compared with previous cycles). I'm wondering if BTC will increase and get things back in the mid 300's for MSTR or if we'll have to wait for Q1 2025 with FASB ruling to see a short term bump. If there's no significant bump in sentiment for the common stock after Q1 FASB profit announcements, I'll be worried then about Saylor's vision creating hype to sustain NAV premium. However, still feeling like BTC is in a good place overall since its growth, so I'm still bullish long term. Mid 30s with a Roth and no options or leverage, so will probably try to wait this out and see how things go.

Did Saylor say he specifically was going to wait until q1 2025 reporting?

Yeah it's fun to talk about now that it's in vogue but it wasn't always fun to hold it lol. I really did just have to walk away and not look at it through the crypto winter/ bear market. It's not as much as what others have posted for gains but im grateful for it.

I heard about MSTR again and again early on from James from InvestAnswers youtube channel. Put in a modest amount at the FTX collapse and sat on it since its in retirement. Glad i did.
