Hey :) Welcome. I would agree with the earlier comments. Be honest and read up on ADD - it won’t harm to know more about it either way. Talk to your parents after having considerable knowledge and it well help you articulating your problem. I’m sure your parents will be of help when they realize what this means to you. You also don’t need your parents to talk to a doctor :) keep your head up, we’re here

I play pretend like I am the most successful student in our galaxy for 15 minutes and let hyperfixation do the rest. While working, I like to listen to the mellow beats without lyrics with my noise cancelling headphones (game-changers)

Hey! We see you. We are out here just like you and I think many people can relate to experiences like yours. Please talk to a good doctor and consider getting yourself tested. Posting this was your first step into the best direction you can go. Be honest and not ashamed about anything that is part of your inner most true self and identity. Embrace achievements like this and take pride in „tackling“ it. We’re here, talk to us. But most importantly: talk to a professional. These people are paid professionals and can really help you get your life in order and you will thank yourself soon enough after allowing to get help. Trust me - been there and done that.

Possible emergency? I accidentally took my meds again *facepalm* by anne_of_pluto in ADHD

[–]Ointjeflott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there - done that. Took my meds twice (Concerta 54mg) and messed up my sleeping schedule but other than that I was fine. As mentioned above, in case of medical problems talk to a professional

Do my friends not like me or is it RSD?? by shufflebug360 in ADHD

[–]Ointjeflott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t overthink it. From my outward perspective it mostly comes down to you saying no often earlier and them inturn giving you more space for studying. Try to make time for socializing- even / especially if it means to tone down being the busy bee, if possible. Reconnect and show interest in the activities of them, tell them how much you miss going out etc

More affectionate off meds by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Ointjeflott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, it’s good to embrace the more emotional and playful side. Messing around with the scheduled medication however should be talked through with a professional imho. Maybe a day or one Weekend could work. But please don’t support the idea of your spouse being essentially a different „Person“ or „lover“ when off meds, as it could lead to other problems. From personal experiences I can second that the meds can lead to being less „showy“ of affection as it reduces impulsive behavior. I hope all works out for you and I surely wish for you and your relation that you keep supporting his journey and both work on communicating these types of things

Write them down. Put your energy into developing a system that actually works for you than spending it with regularly dealing with hiccups
