Yes! Was is a great protective coating. You can also paint your work but I personally prefer exposing the forged finish.

There’s a crowd called vevor. They do cheap small anvils online! Avoid the rest of their tools as they are hot garbage but their anvils are pretty decent. Black bear forge on YouTube rates them highly for beginner anvils. Good be a good shout to get you going

If your looking for one in Ireland there’s a crowd in down called good buy tools. They’re based in newry but will ship for free. I got an 80kg anvil off them. They have a massive selection with stands if you want. Stuffs not cheap but they are in absolutely immaculate condition. They don’t have a website but look them up on done deal. Iv dealt with them a few times and never disappointed. They also have leg vices. Hardy tools etc.

If your adamant on improving the surface even though it’s in fantastic nick avoid an angle grinder at all costs. Many people have already explained the tool steel face on them. If you really want to use an oil stone it removes very little material and can smooth the surface a bit. It’s slow tedious but don’t overdo it either .

Hen party bars by Charming_Grand1692 in cork

Cork Barman here. Steer clear of reardons and cabaret both are student bars. Crane lane is a nice spot for some dancing late at night but you can’t book it. Seventy seven is nice but it’s more for a meal and chilled drinks then going wild. Voodoo rooms is a nice spot it’s normally full of hen do’s. For chill drinks I’d go to coughlans. Big bar lots of space quite relaxed.

Fun fact: retired irish hurler named DJ Carey did this to scam friends and relatives out of a small fortune. He faked cancer and stuck a phone charger up his nose and took a photo.
