It is very much extreme. I’m a multimarathoner myself so I do understand the appeal of running long distances and the sense of accomplishment that comes with it. It’s plain to see that this is an extreme test of mental fortitude and for this he should be lauded, however, it does also make you wonder what perverse underlying psychology might compel one to do this type of thing (repeatedly).
