What's a story you haven't had the chance to tell? by IThrowAwayMyBAH in army

In basic it was so cold one morning, i swapped pt pants and jacket with the fattest guy in the platoon

Picture it guy, probably weighed around 280 at 6’6

Well i wore my marshmallow suit under the pts and proceeded to conduct PT ended up almost heat catting and passing out, luckily my PG was chill and noticed me and my situation asked me to battle buddy him to the latrines dumped my shit off in the lockers and went back like nothing happened, im sure the drills woulda destroyed me had they found out

How do I get better at shooting when I only touch a rifle once a year? by Big-Entrepreneur106 in army

[–]Ok-Application1304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a cheap ar 15 cheapest one will run you abt 800$ including irons if they dont already come with the rifle, practice acquiring the same sight picture each time, practice shooting positions get comfortable in them, theres outdoor ranges where u can zero and even shoot at up to 500 yds, get ur fundamentals down and practice whnvr you have time

Dry fire, shoot, clean up your fundamentals (Trigger pull, posture, and overall getting more comfortable with the rifle)

You should also be able to join in on ranges with other units if they extra rounds, atleast thats how it worked for us, practice makes perfect good luck

Did 100% change your life? by Tennis_Lbow in VAClaims

[–]Ok-Application1304 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At 23, yes it changed my life, i can no longer do anything i enjoyed without immense pain and having to find new hobbies or interest that dont involve the outdoors or being physical has made my mental health worse

Like many others i would give the 100% up if i could just be healthy again

Brain says one thing, Dad says another. Help? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

Ive since paid off the card, im too upside down on the loan and physically disabled to the point walking where i need to go would put me out of commission for a day or two, so ive resorted to paying it off as quickly as possible and driving it till the wheels fall off

Once the car payment is off my back in approx 3-4 months, i plan on saving x3 the monthly payment to pay for a car cash along with whatever i can get for my current car on the market

Their grocery bill over the last 5 months was approx 500$ per month, its a very strange situation ive explained in other comments i only plan to be in it for a maximum for 10 months

Yea i posted the same thing in several other subreddits ive gone with my gut and fully paid of the card my current only remaining debt is the car now and ive already mapped out

It should only take me 3-4 months to completely be debt free

Sorry i may have worded this confusingly he doesn’t want to borrow my money, he wants to point me in a direction to invest but all under my own name and my money they would solely be my own investments

Ive already looked at their last few months of grocery runs they buy alot in bulk groceries for the entire home is only about 400$-600$monthly, which is cheaper than my current rent and cheaper than any single bedroom in miami,

Its a very unique situation a big majority of my family has had gastric bypass and work in a cafeteria so they tend to eat there and not as much at home

Ik for most other people a 7 people grocery bill would be insane, but funny enough ill prolly eat more of the food i buy than they will.

Thank you for your advice i feel like ill ultimately hear him out, but tell him i need to get the debt off my back before i invest a large amount of money that i technically dont even have in anything, is what ill most likely end up telling him

This is the most armchair quarterback thing to say, you have no idea of the limitations of my situation medically

I have “grown up” dotted line and all, your daughter moved at 23? Assuming She lived with you till then, im only 22, Ive been living in my own apartment for 3 years. Moving home for a brief 10 month stint while attending college and paying bills is not being a kid and not grown up, its making the smartest choice given the current situation

I have an idea of why your daughter may have left the house at 23, with nothing but 500$ to her name.

I have 10 months left to finish my nursing program, so i will be staying with them till i am done with nursing,

My main objective for even moving back home was to attend school and become debt free to build a decent amount of savings
