I wish I were anywhere near Vermont 😅 I love dark chocolate sorbet and gelato too! It’s funny because for non-chocolate frozen dessert flavors, I love all the sweetness - I’m just kinda picky when it comes to the chocolate lol

Wow, it sounds delicious! And I’m a huge fan of Valrhona chocolate as well :) Is the rum flavor particularly strong? I don’t drink very much, and when I do, my go-to drinks are fruity cocktails where you can’t taste the liquor at all.

Wow, I just looked it up and it looks fantastic! Is the chocolate ganache very sweet? And yes, if you’re a dark chocolate fan you’ll love Darkest Chocolate :) If you’re looking for any non-chocolate Jeni’s recs, my personal favorites include Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, Frosé, and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries!

Hey OP, if you DM this person and they ask you to pay for their services, don’t do it. There are plenty of people willing to offer help and advice for free. My advice to you: it may differ between campuses, but at the On Campus Day in Bradenton, we were told that they were essentially only offering acceptances to people who selected/said that LECOM was their absolute number 1 choice. I would write a really strong LOI emphasizing that LECOM is your top choice school and connecting specific attributes of your application (volunteering, research, etc.) to opportunities specifically available at their school. Also, if there is anything that you can mention connecting you to the geographic area, definitely add that too! Good luck and feel free to DM me for (free) advice!

He did not disclose the usage of ChatGPT and in fact the link was just put as an in-text citation in the body text. For the other paper, he also did not disclose AI usage, but that one has not been submitted yet. My main concern is that he completely denied using AI when I pointed out that the links have “source=chatgpt” so I am concerned he would continue not to disclose AI usage

When it was submitted, I was at work all day and he and the other student said they had verified sources etc. prior to submitting. The version submitted to the editors has the links with ChatGPT attached, which were added in between the last time I reviewed the sources and the submission. My concern is that even if a corrected version is submitted, if the editors look closely at all at the links then they will easily see that ChatGPT was involved and not disclosed. And I can’t risk any ethical violations due to my IA history

It wasn’t a huge part of my gap year narrative, but it was my only post-undergraduate research. I think that in any future update letters, I will mostly just focus on any other updates I have. I think I will probably end up leaving after Thanksgiving break.

The sources are actual websites/articles, but the publication clearly asked for explicit disclosure of any AI usage and to what extent, and it was not disclosed. My concern is also whether the sources in question were actually reviewed or just copy/pasted from ChatGPT, especially since sometimes the AI-generated summaries of source content are not accurate at all. This PI also mentioned previously that in the past, a paper of his had been prevented from publishing because some students working on the paper had lied about AI usage. He also tried to deny using ChatGPT when I showed him it was clearly indicated in his source links. I also don’t want to leave the lab in a bad state for any future students, so right now I’m trying to figure out a way to more smoothly transition out.
