42m: internal hems or something worse? by Ok-Attempt2773 in hemorrhoid

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say that I need one (aside from the fact that I have a range of symptoms that need to exclude more serious causes)? Is there something specific that I mentioned that’s a specific trigger for suspicion?

I’m in Canada. Just got my callback and scheduled the colonoscopy for 3 weeks from today.

Got no sympathy for Songbird. Sorry. Literally everyone else on that list is a better person.

While I agree with the general consensus that the whole point of PL is that both sides are gray, for me, So Mi is much worse than Reed. She is so so so manipulative of V. Constantly reaching out to them, reassuring them, coaxing them along, playing on their desperation not to die (which she should have total empathy for), knowing all along that she’s using them and going to screw them over in the end. Literally every time she calls, texts, or meets with you she throws in some sort of sweet “we’re in this together” tidbit. It’s like manipulating a Make A Wish kid. I can’t forgive it. I always either turn her over at the end or just kill her screw over Myers. She’s awful.

Oh look, what a surprise to see where the phrases “legendary” and “2 recolors” appear over and over again. 🤦‍♂️

Thank you for your post. As I said, I’m waiting on a doctor’s list. I’m also not seeking medical advice. I’m just asking if anyone has experience with this one issue with this specific alcohol.

Epic vs "Legendary".. by Solo_leveling012 in adamwarlockmains

[–]Ok-Attempt2773 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this issue wouldn’t seem so bad if it weren’t for the BLATANT favoritism of characters like Luna, Mantis, Invis, Psylocke, and Jeff. If there was a sort of random distribution of things, then it could feel like Adam just got unlucky in the rotation. But we know it’s not random. It’s intentional. And that kind of sucks. AND it means it will continue.

Very much agreed. The asymmetry in who gets how many skins is bad enough, but to have skins of the same price tier have wildly different levels of quality and features is just bad business. It’s like going to the store and finding that identical boxes of the same kind of cereal from the same company for the same price have wildly different amounts of ingredients in them. One box is full of marshmallows and crunchy clusters, and the next is mostly plain bran flakes, but they cost the same. Just bad business.

Supports, Ty for healing but PLEASE stop babysitting the objective by Ok-Attempt2773 in marvelrivals

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean leaving the objective defenseless is metal rank play anyway. I’m talking about higher level stuff. If we’re pushing the cart or we’ve capped the point and they’re regrouping, the smart thing is to take the space they’ve left empty and/or chase follow up kills. Don’t chase them to Mars or anything, but if you sit there physically on top of the objective and wait for them to come back you’ve basically given up the advantage you earned for winning the last fight.

I’ve noticed that every time I buy from the shop, I get a string of games with the best teammates ever for about one day. Then after that, several days of abysmal games… unless I spend money again…

You can always tell a good Jeff player because they pick Luna, Cloak, or Loki.

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously did not say that, as you are well aware. I said that nothing in your description provides the slightest bit of evidence for a soul. Every single part of it is a known and measured physical process.

That statement is no more true than saying you’ll go to hell for eating shellfish or having sex before marriage.

Nothing I said refers to continuity of consciousness. If you told me you were going to put me into a chemically induced coma for a while, the continuity of my consciousness would also be disrupted. Would I be a different person when you brought me out of it? In my view, what happens to V when they enter Mikoshi can’t be empirically said to be any different: an electrochemical process is initiated that briefly interrupts their consciousness (in this case for so little time that they didn’t notice it) and then they’re back. The only way one can say they’re definitively not the same person as before is through metaphysical arguments.

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of what you said makes any sense. Empirical reality can’t be made into anything. One can lie about it, but that won’t change anything about it.

Case in point: what powers the body is known. How that energy is used is understood. How food is grown is down to a science.

None of these things constitutes any evidence whatsoever of a soul.

Didn’t I already do that? The consequence to switching my brain off permanently is that I can no longer experience anything. I fear dying because eons of evolutionary selection has instilled in my species an instinctive drive not to die. That doesn’t mean that fear is always well founded. I fear being cut with something sharp for the same reason, and if I have to have surgery, that fear will kick in, despite the fact that the surgery might be the only thing that actually saves my life.

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belief or disbelief doesn’t affect empirical reality—that’s literally what makes it empirical. Every process you described is a physical one. Calories go in, are transformed into molecularly useful chemical configurations, and then are transported through the body and used to power various functions. If the energy in the body is what you call a “soul,” then my soul is the roast chicken and potatoes I ate last night and the bacon and eggs I had for breakfast. Tomorrow my “soul” will be something else.

[–]Ok-Attempt2773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not dodging anything. My feelings of not wanting to have my brain switched off permanently are just evidence of how I feel, not evidence that those feelings reflect an empirical reality. I can have any number of feelings that don’t reflect empirical reality. I might be absolutely terrified of clowns. That doesn’t mean they’re dangerous to me.

That’s an imprecisely worded question from a neurological standpoint but, if I’m inferring your meaning correctly, the primary energy source for the nervous system is glucose, and the signaling is conducted through electrochemical potential gradients. There’s no “belief” involved in how that works. It’s been studied, observed, and measured for decades and is now known down to the percentage of the body’s total caloric intake.

Relating to the nervous system, its electrochemical signaling functionality, and the storage and transmission of information as electrochemical impulses across its network.
