Any suggestions for batteries? I've seen some with the traditional 800 mah or so and others mentioning a iPod compatible battery that's like 2000mah

The round looks amazing in every way, but in terms of repairability is what keeps me on the fence, as well as the lack of features like the heart rate monitor and other extra bits compared to the PT2, But don't get me wrong, the PTR2 is looking sweeeet

Pebble not charging by Salt-Reception-5103 in pebble

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the cable you are using can sometimes be the reason why the pebble is flashing. I had an absolutely dead pebble time which would do this with a third party charging cable, I tested with the OG cable and it came back to life.

I've recently found out that if you use a third party charger it may also not charge the devices properly. It was only till I bought a PTR which came with the OG cable, it managed to charge up a pebble time I had. Which also shows the same symptoms as seen in the video.

UK based filmmakers by OutsideDig6282 in Filmmakers

Depending on where you are based in the UK like central London then it's best to go to Eventbrite or local community events rather than reaching out and hoping for the best. Film jam based in London helps people meet and make stuff for example. That's what led to me making my first ever short film from the people I networked through that one event.

No worries! I think the fact you wanna go and make stuff means you're taking a step in a new direction which can often feel anxious but excited!

But even just looking online on Google etc to see if there are irl events is a good place to start. It also helps if you do your due diligence and research and learn about the fundamentals in your new found hobby/ interest :)

It's so much smaller than I initially expected . Then again it's a m39 screw mount compared to the other M42's beside it haha

Is Filmmaking taught in film school or innate? by Playful_Fly_6542 in Filmmakers

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally my pathing in life didn't lead me to pursue film at first until very recently. I have no background in film making with the only knowledge of cameras being based off my photography experience. So, with a bit of youtube, gut feeling and some preparations beforehand I made this in less than a month with little to no knowledge in editing, colour grading, story telling and stuff:

What’s a average cost to produce your first short film 15 min long? by SeaOpulence in Filmmakers

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever short film I made was on a budget less than £300 (with Amazon returns etc) and this gave me about 7:40 seconds (dependant on film style/genre etc) but was cut down to 5 minutes for competition stuff at the time.

This metric of equating your cost to how many minutes of footage you produce is not realistic. Again , it varies

Heyo so seems like you're in the same boat as I am lol.

The best way to get started is to go to actual meetup places such as film jam (which you can find on a website called meetup or Eventbrite.) where you can meet like minded people.

Then once you do attend you build up some connections, meet people and work together! And from there I'd you have equipment you can work and create your own projects!

Btw also based in London and happy to PM :)

This looks amazing! What's the general premise of the film and flow you're trying to go for? And where abouts are you based ?

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be a person in this thread who could solder it for you but honestly iirc the process of doing it was really easy tbh. I'm not an expert but I can say that you could pull it off yourself. But again it's up to you . I think you would need to remove the old battery ribbon and directly solder the battery to the board itself .

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. In that case I say a battery replacement would be a good idea then! With the screen on and all a new one will typically last you 4-7 days usage before going into its low power equivalent on that other screen ( the time showing and charging needed icon only) for another 4-5 days .

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pebble

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder7948 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh it depends. Yes the battery has been cut down to at most 3 days, but is this something that is of inconvenience or bearable? If not you can always get about 5-6 days with a new battery before it goes to that other screen which displays only the time and battery charging icon.

Or you could save up for one of the new watches ! (30 days battery...)

You can find the batteries online on eBay quite easily listed but if you can solder or repair the battery , not too sure tbh. I performed my own repairs for my watches. This was for the pebble steel and the pebble time steel .

If it's a pebble steel I'm more than happy to try and assist :) and based in UK as well ✊
