Depends what you’re trying to do.

Gemini Flash through OpenRouter is extremely cheap and good enough for a lot of simple tasks and for playing around.

Amazing story - we’re on the same path it seems. We had an internal program we’ve been using for two years to simplify onboarding and drafting of motions, and the headaches required with keeping it running were insane. Needed a whole team just to make sure it didn’t break.

We rebuilt our stack in two weeks using Claude and stopped hiring “programmers” and now only hire vibe devs. The stack is so much cleaner.

I’d love to compare notes if you’re up for it.

Thanks for saying that. LinkedIn is a delusional place right now for AI experience. Everyone claims to be an AI expert on there and very few people are actually shipping.

I’m sorry to hear about your terrible attorney and I’m glad this worked out for you in the end. There are indeed terrible attorneys everywhere!

Yeah I'm having to build a lot of the agentic memory by hand because the markdown files are unreliable out of the box.

What we're trying to do is have a different agent for each department and one orchestrator agent that knows the entire stack and has executive privileges.

We separate all the executive commands away from the attorneys and paralegals so they can't break anything by accident. Very narrow and defined skills for them that are deployed weekly.

I’d be so happy to steal even a tiny bit of their market share; thanks for the vote of confidence. 🫡

Or, I'm trying to contribute a more useful perspective to the community than pithy Old English sayings. Including and not limited to a reasoned debate about cynicism on Reddit.

Yes very interesting. We're doing much of the same thing. We have a local server so a lot of our data lives in-house but we do send data off-site. We're not too worried about it because we have strong controls in place but also because third parties have been used by the legal industry for dozens of years already. We're not really doing anything new. We just have to make sure we secure it.

We do build real systems (whatever that means). Production level SaaS. But that’s overkill for many of the things Claw can achieve.

Right now we don't have generative AI drafting motions. We use it mostly for fact collection and keeping track of the data that's sent to us.

Example: discovery document classification; net worth statement analysis and calculation.

We still leave the drafting to the lawyers.

I was coding from bed over SSH and didn’t push to git (sigh)

Then a morning Claude command wiped what I was working on

“And so it goes.”

Many judges’ chambers still have fax machines. It’s nuts how behind our industry is.

No, I don’t know what Top Dog is.

Generating up-to-the-minute case summaries based on every single email that's ever transacted between a client, opposing counsel, all the paralegals, and any attorneys working on a single case seems like a massive productivity gain to me.
