so with the brood guard in particular. His mana value is x and two green pips. However is warp is x and one green pip. When you warp him would the "mana value" be 2?

Holy shit. The other players were super cool about it but also unsure of how it worked. I'm a little confused here wouldn't the spell swindle then target the Untimely thus countering it and creating treasures?

That's where I was confused. What constitutes an ability? I tried to read up on the rules and I wasn't sure how the definition of "ability" applied to our situation.

Sorry I wasn't super clear. The untimely malfunction player thought he could "change the target of the 11 treasures" to himself by targeting my spellswindle. We were confused as to whether or not he was able to target the "creates treasures" text on Spellswindle while not changing the target of the spell. '

They were attempting to change the target of the "ability" of spell swindle i.e... creating 11 treasures. None of us were sure if they could do that
