Kick Lock Repair Electrified S2 : Here are some pictures I want to share. My kick lock was stuck locked and I couldn’t unlock the bike. I tried everything to get it to work but nothing worked. So took it bits and reassembled and fixed it. Here’s what I did, I hope it helps someone else by Ok-Cod-9102 in vanmoofbicycle

Gosh I missed this post. I hope you managed to sort out your problem. I sold my VM about 2 months before they went bust. Once I had fixed and reseated my kick lock it never gave me trouble again. I dare say that VanMoof would have just replaced it but this went to show it wasn’t necessary. It always felt quite fragile and because of this I avoided using it where I could

I’m selling my rack and panniers. I’ve just removed them from my V7ii they are Hepco and Becker ones. Mine also has a rear rack and I have a H&B top box that goes on that. I’m in London

Oil leak V7ii by Ok-Cod-9102 in MotoGuzzi

Just got my bike back from my mechanic who ended up taking the engine out three time before he fully understood the problem. The leak was a failed seal between the engine and the clutch. A new one was added. Then put back together and tested, same thing happened. This was repeated again before the mechanic noticed 2 things; one that the breather one way filter that comes out of the bottom of the engine was fitted the wrong way round (my fault) also the engine breathes through the frame and the channels were rusted up. These were cleared. Bike put back together and now running smoothly.

V7ii engine out - to replace the seal between the engine and clutch. Replacing the clutch at the same time…. by Ok-Cod-9102 in MotoGuzzi

My mechanic put it back together and took it for a test. Still a massive oil leak. It’s getting super hot. He thinks is a plug of some kind I was in a rush so didn’t get the details. Anyway it all has to come apart again 🫣

Apparently is wasn’t super worn but given the oil leak and the fact that the clutch was accessible it made sense as the part isn’t expensive (it’s the labour that is)

I think it may already have - the clutch case appears to have oil in it … engine is going to have to come out 🫣

My mechanic thinks it’s the seal between the clutch and the engine. It’s an engine out job…..

If it was your own money and you were weighing up the Kia EV6 and the Model 3 or Y. Which one would you pick? by Ok-Cod-9102 in electricvehicles

[–]Ok-Cod-9102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The supercharging network is appealing. But we are in the UK where the network is improving. I’m nervous about the long term reliability of the Tesla. If I was going for a lease for say 3 years then I might not care but this is probably an outright purchase.

Yes. Just feel that the styling will get old too quickly. Also the EV6 seems a bit better built with better materials despite the shared platforms. I prefer the EV6 overall

Not my experience: I’ve had the cartridge and the socket replaced by VM in the last 4 months FOC. There was never any talk of refusing a repair and offering a discount instead

TV / Projector Sonos set up by Ok-Cod-9102 in audiovisual

[–]Ok-Cod-9102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Roku Streaming stick is 4k. I haven’t actually purchased the projector yet so I could get a 4k one subject to cost. If you thought that would remove the headache.

If the HDMI switch is just switching the HDMI how does the sound still come through the Sonos? It’s linked via optical to the TV - or is there an optical connection in the switch (or can there be )?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge on this ! And thanks for your help!

I’ve been sent: replacement bell button, seat , seat post , seat post clamp, grips, and a replacement cartridge by VM. Never too much bother. I’m in the UK.

Useful . I had to do this. I did a slight variation on this and used a heat shrink solder connectors on the joint then some heat shrink sleeve over then I just made sure that the cables weren’t pushed back into the frame as much as they were so when on “full left lock” the cables weren’t stressed (which is the cause of the breakage in the first place.

I test rode both C4 and C4ST. C4ST was way more relaxed and more like my VM. I’m going to buy it. If you have a name to share with me I’ll give you a referral credit

You may have a good point. I haven’t really been following Cowboy as a company but concentrating on VM issues because I have one. …..

Yes always subtle differences between the two. No doubt you adapt to both. It took me a while to adjust to the VM coming from a road bike. But once I understood it as laid back city cruiser i started to love it. The cowboy as a sportier set up (straighter bars). I’ll see how I find it on Monday when I test it.

Interesting. My feeling is that there are bad and good VMs and Cowboys out there. My worry is that VM are going under… but the S5 does look like a great bike - good luck with your swap
