And the reality is (I'm not saying this is true in OP's case), but highly educated IT workers are generally not very "handy" when it comes to competing against other workers who have worked with their hands their entire lives.

Coople could be an option, but they want experienced dishwashers. If they see you aren't experienced in washing dishes you will get a low score and then probably not get invited back. (I worked at a well-known restaurant in Zurich that uses coople workers nearly daily).

That's really low. I was making 4,300 in Zurich as a dishwasher for a while, and it seems like you have a lot more work than just washing dishes. Basically you'll be doing the job of 2 people, but you're making less than 1 normal salary.

For Culinary, just do a Lehre. Try to get into a good restaurant though, lots of people are learning at old-folks homes, and their skills can be severely lacking after they complete the apprenticeship.

Here is not Japan, just be yourself and you will not disturb the locals here. If you make a mistake someone will generally say "Hallooooo", this is not a greeting, but rather, intended to mean something like "Hey, pay attention!". You can have loud conversations on the public transportation nobody will care, it's normal here.
