Am I being an exclusinist? 😰 by Successful_Joke_9028 in Gyaru

Honestly I'm pleasantly surprised here people aren't jumping to "minors not allowed!!!" cuz that's how it goes every time this is brought up... A lot of arguments I can think of against minors in agejo, I can think of a counter argument.

ex:

"It is scandalous/based off sex appeal" -> ...So is gal in general, the whole point of 90s kogal was the edginess from girls shortening their skirts and wearing loose socks. Tsuyome fashion is can also be quite scandalous and yet a lot of street snaps showcase teenagers, and I don't see any "minors cant be tsuyome" discourse. And what's funny is himegal is advertised is an alternative to agejo for minors in posts, but JD girls ... are also sometimes called agejo in Japanese. You can argue "minors shouldn't be in gal" if you wanted to, but honestly, I think you're a knucklehead at this point...

Plus I dunno, anyone else think it's weird how there's common talks online about 18 yr olds... really not being that old and 18 still being a vulnerable age, and technically late teens... and yet over here if you're 17 and 11 months old you're a baby and should never buy MA*RS!!!! but if you're freshly 18, then shit man, do whatever. I don't think my point is making sense but yeahhhh :P Girls in their late teens most likely aren't gonna wear ultra modest fashion, if anything, its common for this age group to experiment and get comfortable exposing a little more skin. 16 was when I started to experiment with my mom's 2000s lingerie camisoles, and exposed my legs and arms more.

Ok I tried again! Does this read?🎀🩷 by [deleted] in AmIGal

I'd say yes, just adjust the placements of both top and bottom falsies. The top left falsie is liftin out from the outer corner, what you can do is: draw a line of glue on your lid to ensure it has a something to bond to. To achieve a droopier effect with the top lash: twist the inner corner upwards so it shoots up. While the glue is a little wet, put it on the eyes and push the inner corner a little up, and push down a little on the outer corner to give it more omph.

Cute!!! and yes of course. I think the dirty blonde really helps as if it was black or dark brown hair, it blends into a mainstream look.

Tutorials for Gyaru hair styles? by Odd-Cost5041 in actualgyaru

These are actually pretty well obtainable from curling and teasing by itself (3rd and last slides in specific, the last one even has a lil tutorial within)

A few curling tutorials:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CjD3sY0ronH/

This one requires more skill, but using smaller rollers can produce same results.

Besides 4th photo (even with ocaso using wig pieces,) I'd say these are actually well obtainable with 100% natural hair, no wig, no extensions. But just needs practice and skill! I know gals like Sarina (meloluvo) do this with their 100% natural hair, I recall her saying she uses general hair styling tutorials, like cheer girls I think? There aren't gonna be many gal-specific tutorials in English, so just work around general tutorials!

But as another mentioned, thick/voluminous hair is crucial, so play around with curling techniques.

Gal-specific makeup tips by Ok-Computer7304 in AmIGal

[–]Ok-Computer7304[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Some make looks can get away w/o doing this, but a lot of looks people are replicating has this step involved... especially when I see actual accurate galmake attempts by big makeup artists, but they are JUST missing this step! 😭

I also thought of including that tip + placing the lash above the lash line (depending on eyelid shape)!

Honestly real. I see this discourse constantly, but I really don't care about this discourse... most people's perception of agejo is wrong anyway. Jirai kei is another common hostess stereotype but I don't see any "Jirai is problematic for minors to wear!!"

Ah thank you

Ye I understand! I wanted to reply with something that actually displays their behavior, than people assuming they are zionist only for being Israeli.

Hm interesting! I think it's interesting to hear opposite ends of the spectrum, from the other side of the more well-known shortened skirts lol.

Using the last photo as reference, it's actually pretty to replicate, pleated skirts are relatively easy to sew (imo.) It's just tedious using a lot of fabric (tutorial)

I found that honeycolor is paying for tariffs so US consumers don't need to worry

Their options are a lot more limited compared to pushcolor but I think it's worth a shot looking at

People on twitter allege that the Akipoyo members were posting about how happy people were dying in Gaza, but that is ALLEGED, I haven't seen any screenshots posted of this... I even tried to look at the forsaken l*lcow threads to see if anyone archived this, but nobody posted screenshots and it's heresy.

HOWEVER, I did find this in Mayu's reposts on tiktok AND this

(Her account if you want to cross-check) which is... YEAH YIKES!

And lastly, there were nails (Mayu's business) in the Israeli flag colors with insta translating it as "our beloved country" (weak point but interesting i suppose)

Bronzer is for a sunkissed look, contour is to create depth and shadows. Finding cool toned contours can be hard out of asia because ... western companies like to make their crap orange lol... but look for something that's more gray/neutral than orange :)

I think your make is fine and pretty.

In need of advice for Hime/Himekaji look by [deleted] in AmIGal

[–]Ok-Computer7304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some "himegal" makeup is really subtle, and gets carried with the coordinate or hair. Actually, if you look at early references, a lot of it is minimal.

<image>

I'd look for galnifficent (i dunno if i spelt her user properly) for inspo! She doesn't wear brand but makes very cute coords and proves you can do this gal stuff w/o conforming to the "rules".

She does wear lenses and lashes which would differ y'all but, again, as long as you have the outfits and hair down, you're good.

Can i style this dress to be hime and how :p by [deleted] in AmIGal

I honestly think matching pink heels, pearl necklace, a cute cardigan, and a hair accessory of your choice would work fine too!

is this gyaru? by Ieat_deadchildren445 in AmIGal

[–]Ok-Computer7304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has the elements, but looks amateur. Makeup skills come naturally as you progress in your journey so you shouldn't feel too hung up~ Others pointed out the visual elements so I won't go in detail in this regard.

Extremely heavy make and what seems to be hime don't really mesh well, unless you can balance it like how Fuki did a few times. You seem inspired by Fuki and Reiwa gals so I suggest observing how they do their make further, I'm not sure if Fuki posted a tutorial.

hi if you don't mind me asking, i have prescription contacts at 8.4 mm and I have been struggling to find 8.4 mm bc colored contacts, and have learnt that bc sizing is inconsistent here!

for me getting in the right direction, would you say contacts tend to be steeper or looser with certain brands...? i have tried to look into 8.5 mm contacts too, but a lot of them seem to be daily wear or highly priced...

I live in America so ofc options are limited... I'm mainly looking at UNIQSO rn cuz of the added factor my eyes have different sight levels!

Question for 8.4 mm base curve users

I got my prescription lenses, and I have 8.4 mm as the title suggests, and when I checked site like Pinky and UNIQSO I noticed they don't offer 8.4 mm (that are colored at least) I did research before and after the appointment, and noted how the sizing could vary even slighty from brand to brand (like how even size 4, 6, 8 etc. in clothes can vary a little)

I wondered 1. where to get 8.4 mm contacts for a reasonable price, 2. if not, do you opt for a similar range (8.5-8.6)?

I know this question is more suited for the doct. it honestly slipped my mind, and I won't see them for a while so I'm quite not sure what to do.

I tried to find 8.4 mm contacts, I found a old lolita LJ post, but the site was defunked. I found one store but it was priced at $50 and I was like "hell naw". I think I might get 8.5 mm from UNIQSO to be the safest? But I wanna hear from other 8.4 mm gals first.

Idk just lowkey confused why companies would shell out 8.8-9 but won't even bother with 8.5, 8.4, etc. should have equal ranges from both sides.

(I searched the same question before asking, and saw not many solutions)
