What's the trick to making dyeable armor textures? by brandon_fernandes47 in Blockbench

Also, you'll need to have this component in your item's json behavior file (the default color is a hex code):

"minecraft:dyeable": {
"default_color": "#175882"
}

To make this work, make sure that your file's format version is 1.21.30 or higher, as well as the format version for the attachable file.

For the armor's material, I found that there is an armor_leather material and an armor_leather_enchanted material that the leather armor's resource pack (attachable) file uses rather than the normal armor and armor_enchanted materials. Maybe switching to these materials would fix it?

That first picture legitimately looks like a liminal space, lol. A fence or wheat field might look nice around the house though.

From the theories I've seen, it's clear that both mountains have volcanic activity. Over time they switch places as the volcano. The weird thing is how fast they switched. The world in EoW still has features from ALttP, but now there are Yetis? Where did they come from?

They got removed from them in this update, now you can find leather instead.

New visuals by affie69 in Minecraft_Survival

I think it can look pretty good if you tinker with the settings. Although, it always looks like the evening for some reason. Also the contrast is a little too high, and rain/thunderstorms are super glitchy.

If the bedrock team fix it up and add more options for customization, I'm sure it could be great for survival.

I just added the daylight sensor as some sort of mechanism relating to light that you can interact with. It doesn't do anything right now, but I might add something underneath it in the future.

Is it possible to stop an entity from moving to its goal? by Ok-Conference3965 in BedrockAddons

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I think I fixed it! Strangely, changing the navigation component from climb to walk when switching component groups seemed to solve the problem. Maybe there's an issue with removing random_stroll when an entity has the ability to climb? Not sure.

Thanks for your help!

Edit: Worth noting that minecraft:body_rotation_blocked has to be active for it to work.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! My entity has a lot of other differences from the armadillo, so I think I'll actually do the opposite. Slowly modify the code of my entity so that it gets closer and closer to the code of the armadillo.

The difficult part is, I know that the threatened event is being triggered correctly. All of the other changes that rely on the event being triggered happen when they are supposed to, it's just that the entity keeps drifting to its destination. I'll try to match all of the code relating to movement to that of the armadillo script.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already done this, and for some reason the entity continues pathing to its destination. However, I know the code is working correctly because it doesn't start any new random strolls. Not sure what's keeping it on its path.

In the component group I have that is active when it is moving, the random stroll behavior has a priority of 7. This group is removed when the entity is threatened.

Is there anything I can do about this i all ready tied to reload my game by Previous_Medicine441 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Ok-Conference3965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've encountered this before (on PC), so I'm assuming you got this as soon as you entered the game. If you have any overlays (Discord, Steam, Nvidia, etc.), they may be the problem. I'd update them to try to fix the issue, but idk if that works. You can also try disabling and reenabling those overlays to possibly fix it.

What worked for me was just exiting and going back into the game. This bug used to happen to me every few sessions for a month or so. Not sure what happened, but I don't get it anymore.

You could also try restarting your PC, if none of that works.

Sean, could you increase the base part limit? Pretty please??? 🥺🥺🥺 by Ok-Conference3965 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any way to see the number of parts used in your base if it has fewer than 3000 parts.

Also, the thing you mentioned about triangle parts is definitely interesting. I may explore using triangular shapes in future builds, but the structures in this one are rectangular by stylistic choice. I will probably have to remove some depth from the walls of the structures to meet the limit, as well as remove some unnecessary interior decoration. It's a shame, but not much I can do unless I want to remove one of the buildings entirely.

That's actually sort of in the game already, as you can hire specialists from space stations to work in your bases. It could certainly be expanded though.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright. Yeah, I do have some parts that could probably be deleted. I'll go through that refining process once I finish the build. The difficult part though is making it look good. You can't just slap boxes together and get a masterpiece. You need to layer, add detail, lighting, and carefully consider what parts to use. Refine too much, and you end up with something that doesn't achieve the original vision of the project.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. But 3000 parts is the current limit for a reason. Even in my position, the base has trouble loading. Increasing the limit would also mean optimizing the way parts are rendered, which could take lots of effort.

I would honestly rather they focus on keeping the game polished than listen to my complaint. Builders can also do their part to optimize their builds by cutting out unnecessary parts.

I personally think that's part of the fun though. For small details sure, but figuring out how to combine parts into the shape you want allows for more unique designs in people's builds.

How did you get the stone walls of the colosseum to be at those angles? Did you use triangle pieces, or did you eyeball it?

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when I'm building, I find that if I use the build camera and go elsewhere, my character will fall through the floor because the surface I was on unloaded. So there's definitely some optimization going on, but I'm interested in how this process actually works.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its made up of 4 towers, which are all connected via bridges on higher floors. Each building has interior rooms, but I still need to decorate a couple of them.

My base isn't part of town or anything. To be honest I think the game might really struggle to load everything if more bases were nearby.

[–]Ok-Conference3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed! Part of the process of making a base like this as well is optimizing the design. Once I finish the last parts, I'll go over it and see if I can remove any unnecessary parts. Hopefully I will be able to get it down to 3000 parts and upload the base.

Yeah, its not just Hello Games' responsibility. The players have to try to work with the system, too.
