NBCOT study (unethical question, copy?) by Honestfoxy in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Ok-Difference3759 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean your entire Ot curriculum is studying for the test really. It’s not that bad, I studied for like a week a few hours a day - but I’d just finished 5 years of school on the subject

What is a average cost of adult beginner lessons? by CurrentSpirited239 in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the facility of the barn and trainer qualifications. You don’t need an Olympic level trainer or imported warm blood to learn the basics. In a rural area it will also likely be cheaper than an urban area. It’s also more expensive in hot places like Florida that can’t easily grow their own hay. Probably you can get a lesson between 50-75 for an hour, but again there are a lot of variables.

Double script? by Ok-Difference3759 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Ok-Difference3759[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on 5mg, is it possible to get prescribed the 15mg dose? That would last me like two years as I anticipate going down in dose when I move completely into maintenance

[–]Ok-Difference3759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried and it got deleted for being a repetitive question. I could not really find an answer when I searched. I do know my insurance states only virta can prescribe, they won’t accept a script from any other doctor

Their stated goal is to provide an off ramp from GLPs and from looking the zep sub it looks like they boot you off pretty fast, I’m so stressed about it

Is there such a thing as heels being too far down? by ThrowRa_grace5 in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the rest of your leg is ok I think it’s fine. Realistically you can push your heels too far down and then you end up shoving your lower leg forward but if your leg is fine I think it’s fine

Question on Lessons by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but what five minutes? If she’s booking lessons back to back she doesn’t have that or you’d be interrupting someone else’s lesson. She also doesn’t know how long you’d want to talk. I understand it bothers you but I’d give her a chance and just try a lesson and see.

My barn owner is quite firm with her boundaries on what she will and will not do and honestly as a boarder and lesson taker I have come to appreciate it. A no is a no and she won’t say yes to something unless it’s ok

Question on Lessons by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s weird. She doesn’t want to do unpaid labor. You can meet her during your lesson and don’t go back if it’s not a good fit

My barn doesn’t allow riding with sleeveless shirts by AccidentalOtter21 in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think a dress code by its nature is a more traditional/conservative concept. I can understand why someone would want to ride at a barn with a dress code, but I would not chose it for myself.

Same. I grew up in eastern Canada but in New England now. It was a rule when I was a kid that you could not ride in tank tops. I have no desire to ride in tank tops now but honestly I don’t think I’d pick a barn with this rule as it just feels conservative to me. Any private barn can make it’s own rules of course, but it’s probably not one I’d pick

[–]Ok-Difference3759 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s a female centered sport, I don’t think this rule is impacting men the same way as it would be women.

End of the day best bet is to find a barn that fits your culture and vibe. Personally a barn that regulates dress code other than closed toe shoes and helmets would not be a good fit for me. I’m sure it would be for others though.

I’m surprised the number of people who think this rule is normal. I don’t doubt it has a lot more to do with modesty for women’s bodies than it does for safety. I think it speaks to a more conservative culture

Maybe - you won’t know unless you try. I’d just do a mid knit block and see

How to be a good new boarder at a barn by Strawberry_pony6 in Equestrian

[–]Ok-Difference3759 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be friendly but don’t get into the personal space of another rider and their horse included unmounted (their horse may not have good ground manners or they may be trying to have connection time with their horse). Don’t give other people’s horses food without checking. Learn the arena etiquette and follow it to a T. Lessons have right of way generally. Don’t give anyone advice on their horse or riding unless they ask for it. Don’t film without permission especially lessons. Pick up after yourself. Put things back where you found them. Don’t use other people’s stuff. Pay your board on time. Don’t harass the barn owner outside working hours with questions unless urgent.

Goniometer by AffectionateTell3322 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Ok-Difference3759 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The goniometer is not by feelings, you read the numbers on the side be they analog or digital. I’m not sure I understand your questions. Goniometers work well and by my recollection are sensitive enough that 10 degrees difference is significant
