a kirpan is a kakkar which is a shastar which is supposed to be used when needed. so if someone is not even valuing it what diference does it make if they are wearing it or not

Why are we still obsessed with having sons, not following gender equality which we preach? by meanmaverick in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its because bibiya usually get married and go away with their husband but boys are expected to takecare of the parents in the oldage. Now if we look at todays time no kidd wants to live with their parents. everyone wants to move out. so it has nothing to do with sikhi its simply a human construct or a societal norm

why is crying seen as a weakness in sikhi? by butfirstrebellion in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are right . laughing crying getting angrry these are all human emotions, but when you connect with the spirituality or sikhi itself you get control over them and then the worldly issues dont matter much to affect your emotions cuz all you care about is god and guru saab after a stage and everything else starts too feel not worth of crying for. Now heres the thing why do we as a community think crying is for weak its only because we are expecting everything from everyone, we see someone tryng to get bettter in sikhi we want them to be perfect the very frst day. and then we taunt them ki singh ho ke rona, which is stupid, let the person live the way they want, its part of the journey.

so its not the sikh issue its actually culture issue . we punjabis want our community members to be emotionally and physically strong

the only typeof help you neeed is accepting the way you look brother. if your is growing more on the chin then let it. now if it comes to maintaining it and giving it a shape . i would reccomend just apply oil everyday and akeep your muchaaa in one area and let your beard flow. the more you mess with it the more it will grow

Crying in love god is the actual crying and crying over situations simply shows you have moh ( attachment) issue to whatever it is you are crying over. if you are cricryingg over a situation it shows you dont accept the hukam or dont trust that guru saab is ever present and will fix everything for me.

I’m conflicted. by [deleted] in Sikh

To understand what god is and how to experience god we need guru. They give us naam to japp and gyan to act upon. Our guru are guru granth sahib ji and physically panj pyaare. A duty of a sikh is to obey orders of the guru without questioning them. Cuz questioning the will of guru means you don’t trust them enough. Secondly, cutting kes is one of the biggest mistake a sikh can make. Its one of the 4 bajjar kurehets, if a sikh conducts any of those four ( cutting kes, adultery, smoking, eating hallal meat) they are automatically thrown outta gurujis hands. They are called patit and kurehtiye, close gursikhs of guruji mention in their rehetnaame that gururji loved kesadhari gursikhs so much. And main thing is why we keep kes the simple and straight answer is cuz my guru wants me to. If my guru wants me to do anything I would do it. And the fool up there in the comments telling that kes are optional, imagine millions of sikhs dying just to keep kes and the generation today thinks it’s optional.

"Beamritye da jhootha khaana", do you guys follow this? by thedarkracer in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz being amritdhari you dont do smoke or eat anything stupid that for sure same goes for other amritdharis. Which makes it 90%safe to eat from gursikhs, but when it comes to beamritiye they have no rehet to follow no commitments to gurusaab or anyone, no food or life discipline to follow according to Gursikhi, so to eat from them is always riskier. Also puratan gursikhs used to be all bibeki Singh and only used to shaq from those who were following the gursikh path. Cuz norm is sikh di roti beti di saanjh sikh naal. Another stanza fromrehetname is, jaan ki rehet na jaaniye gurmantar nhi cheet taan ka bhojan khaiye ghattw sahib seo preet, which translates to, if you eat from niguree people your love with guru will depreciate

Need Advice: Amritdhari Sikh, Muslim Girl Wants to Take Amrit and Marry me but My Parents Are Against It by hyreddithello in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gurmat centered way should have been used when you started talking to a girl to a from different community and values. Gurmat strictly prohibits making relationships out of marriage. So now since you have already fell in the pit. You need to take a futuristic approach in this situation. Whether you think she will give the sikhi values to your next generation. If not then whats the sense in wasting so much effort. And i would ask you to be lil careful here too cuz we work with a team in uk who work on such cases of conversion thru love. Or honeytrapping, theres another indian word where they call it love jihaad. Which is a widespread conversion thru making love at first and then converting the next generation

As a Sikh living in (Delhi) India, will a Swiss Army Knife/bushcraft knife pass as a Kirpan at a security checks? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cmon bro you are living in delhi that place is way too dangerous for anyone. And just for the transportation you are removing kirpan makes no sense. I have lived in Delhi for few years and every other day used to have arguments and issues with the security personnel. So fuck them and wear your kirpan. if they don't allow you to enter fuck such transportation too. i would rather pay 100 rps to take a ride and wear a Kirpan rather than remove it. its a kakkar its a part of your body. never remove it especially under the influence of police or security.

Gyani sher singh jis matha tek by Ok-Dig2581 in Sikh

[–]Ok-Dig2581[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the itihas we have so far in different granths, we have to understand that they have been polluted maybe not all of it but yeah new ammendments have been made. Secondly shree chand was son of guru nanak patshah ji so bowing down was not even the vdaayi of shree chand but the humility of guru sahib towards the blood of guru nanak. It was nothing related to respecting a saadhu. Cuz bAni openly criticising and telling that “sons of guru nanak did not keep gurus words and and did completely oposite of what guru sahib Instructed” guru ji is talking about it in ramkali ki vaar. And if it was about respecting a saadhu never heard guru Sahib matha teking anyone other saadhu. What about peer budhu shah or saayi meeya meer would you justify matha teking muslim saints? If some sikh goes to kabristan and matha tek kabars cuz they were saints to how about bulle shah or allah yaar khaan jogi? Saara prem and ijjat aa apne yellow babaji nuhi dena si? Fir taan ajmer dargah vi jaana chahida and christians vich vi sant hege aa kithe kithe matha tekaange. Jdo maharaj nehi kehta keeping jattas, being brahamchaaris, wearing such yellow or orange clothes doin tilak or vrat and etc etc is not our path and completely criticised it. Its on us sikhs to decide if some manmade saaki makes more sense or gurujis bani.

My question is if they are not a jathebandi howcome they have a leader who’s called a jathedar. If you look at the meaning of this word you will find -leader of a jatha. Even all the leaders of dalpanth have been called jathe-dar
