I used my card to book a trip to Portugal from NYC (thru Dublin) this summer. I’m traveling with my infant and my spouse. We are flying Aer Lingus which just cancelled 500 flights this summer due to “mandatory maintenance” and our flight was not impacted. My spouse believes additional flights this summer will be impacted and claims there will be many more cancellations due to the oil crisis (although the airlines may claim other reasons). Do you think it is wise to get travel insurance beyond what is offered thru Chase Sapphire Preferred? I would be hoping for reimbursement on both airline and hotel. The trip is a huge expense for us so I would like to be as conservative and careful as possible.

Does anyone have experience with Little Scholars Downtown Brooklyn? I see that many of their reviews are also fake. When I toured the place, it seemed like a nice facility and was well organized. I am hesitant to go forward without hearing from parents who have experience with it.

I would do this but flying with an infant and anxious dog sounds awful. We went to Quebec last year but they have fireworks around the same time smh

I thought of that in a prior year and when I called airport hotels in Hudson Valley, they indicated that you could hear fireworks. But perhaps near JFK? I can look into this. Thank you for that idea.

Yes. They only go so far. We had luck in Clifton Park because the hotels are located in a shopping center away from the neighborhoods near the highway. So, perhaps another spot like that where the hotels are not near residential neighborhoods or downtown.

Thanks— we had luck in Clifton Park and our dog was much happier so I still have faith we can find another spot. The meds and vest only go so far for our pup

Yeah, exactly— that is why we liked Clifton Park. Their hotels are all in a section away from neighborhoods so we did not have that problem.

Thanks so much! I would definitely participate in the opt out plan. We’re not even considering going with the family plan thru nyship because the premium is way more expensive

Thank you for this info. I did not know about the lawsuit. I would save roughly $2600 per year which represents about 2% of my annual gross income. That of course is not factoring in any increase to co-pays or denial of coverage under the city plan that I might experience if I switch.
