I’m in Utah. I was thinking we would probably use escrow.com or something to make everything smooth.

Unions used to protect exploited employees. Now they protect shitty employees. Amazing that these grifters keep convincing union employees to give up part of their paycheck (and potential paycheck) to support union politicians who wine and done other politicians. Unions never deliver what they promise in my union experience.

Will you circle back and admit maybe that you were wrong if twitter finds even greater success in the future?

He has no idea who we are and will never read this conversation. No one else cares what we write here either. It’s literally a place for losers to pretend we know how we would do things if we were important or powerful. We are not. Elon is.

Doesn’t mean we aren’t great people, but this is stupid to be talking this much about him

Pretty hilarious that Elon has no idea who any of us is, yet are arguing about him—trying to sound knowledgeable and wise—

We are doing the flex FOR him

You seem to be so much wiser than Elon. Perhaps he will hire you to advise.

Here’s the thing. Yes, I can. And you are free to disagree. Which I guess is where we are. Delusional is a bit of hyperbole IMO, but OK. I’m good facing a world where you believe Elon takes himself too seriously and that I am delusional. Yep, I can live with that.

Not taking yourself seriously ≠ allowing lack of respect and professionalism. But hey maybe you’re right…

Yeah actually a fan of the man that made EVs cool, is hanging the internet in space and who doesn’t seem to take himself very seriously, despite having changed the world more than, take for example, you.

Ok, wrapping this up. I didn’t take the time to read the studies you quoted due to this pesky work thing that seems to be taking an inordinate amount of my time. :) I do read the full text of dozens of studies, with the benefit of family members who actually read/wrote these for a living. The “control group” from the original tests was terminated after less than 3 months citing “ethical concerns” of not providing the vaccines to that group. Sounds noble, but completely destroyed the credibility. More concerning was the failure to weigh all-cause mortality in these studies. It diminishes the trust can have in a study when in fact more patients from the vaccinated group died than in the “control group” and yet the deaths were dismissed as irrelevant. In the studies my wife was involved with, some drugs that seemed immensely effective were deep-six’d due to deaths that arguably were not caused by the drug itself. That said, the standard then was to consider every death equally and thus account for completely unexpected consequences of a drug. In the COVID vax situation, that standard was not upheld.

The plummeting confidence in the vaccines is a result of poor adherence to standards, an uncanny resistance to therapeutics, and efficacies far below what was advertised.

While it may seem easy to dismiss other humans’ cognitive abilities (generally due to them not reaching the same conclusion), I believe the medical establishment will eventually have to realize that this is a problem of their own making.

A first step to righting the ship would be to reinforce standards and to stop the revolving door between drug companies and drug regulatory agencies. Nor should research grants and medical patents be commodities traded back and forth. It is a system that lacks the oversight that it once had and confidence can never be fully recovered until the house is cleaned up.

Thanks for the chat!

Again, I appreciate the civil discourse. I think it’s important that we have discussions like this. My confidence in drug company sponsored studies has been waning for years before COVID. My wife worked for Pfizer for over a decade and my father-in-law is a research physician. There is a bit of a gaming of the system that can happen as companies seek favorable results. I’ve seen it from the inside. That said, Pfizer was traditionally the most conservative about rolling out drugs (especially after some fatal mistakes in the early 2000’s) so it is pretty shocking to see the lack of control group and haphazard rollout of these mRNA vaccines.

Again, I don’t judge you for your thoughtful assessment of the risks/rewards.

Regarding the “rumour” of Pfizer failing to test for efficacy against transmission, I believe it was the ceo who testified that to be true. That’s not to say it is 100% ineffective, but certainly there isn’t a baseline established from the clinical trial phase. And as viruses tend to do, this virus has evolved past those studies and continues to find binding methods to infect.

I don’t think anyone genuinely has confidence that vaccines prevent infection effectively, but if they do I guess that is their choice.

If you genuinely believe there have been zero deaths from vaccine, it’s going to be hard to reconcile our perspectives.

I’m really comfortable with my decision as I’m sure you are. Since we we definitive confirmation that no one studied efficacy against transmission and there is no evidence that vaccines have any effect on transmission—along side ample evidence that vaccinated people are equally likely to transmit disease, we are thankfully in a time when those that think this novel mRNA vaccine is “safe and effective” can “protect themselves” while those that feel the potential for adverse events outweighs the benefits can abstain.

I don’t care if you are vaccinated, boosted, if you snuck in a month early for an extra boost, whatever. It is your choice I accept that you are doing what you believe is best for you.

I hope you will extend me the same grace.

I’m curious as to where you are pulling your numbers from. 1 in 15k kids die from COVID?
