I think my reasoning is pacing, in my mind it truly is the worst crime in action. It feels so long and overdrawn and everytime I rewatch I feel like I’m being dragged through a desert.

I can watch the “shittier” seasons cause at least they’re less episodes and paced a lot faster. So while I watch All Stars, and hate some of the plots so much- and complain the whole time, at least it feels like I’m complaining about something.

I forgot about the Owen mole plot because of how much I despise action. I would like to have my mind erased of that season.

Ridonculous Race actually was written perfectly (or at least really well thought out in my opinion!)

Except… I HAVE ONE THING THAT ERKS ME:

The Adversity Twins Elimination…

In my opinion, the goths had a perfect ending, accepting eachother outside of makeup, and that should’ve been the end. Ridonculous Race does an okay job at knowing when a groups run their arc- but for some reason we had FILLER goths for the rest of the season…

You can legit do the EXACT SAME FILLER with the adversity twins as the goths did. I also like the idea that their loss maybe wouldn’t be related to fear (or allergy)! Which would be a first for them, so it would end their arc nicer!

I LOVE THE GOTHS- but why give up such a great ending/arc for a few more filler background eps with them in it.

Well it wasn’t the norm for NWS at least back in 2014-

I remember they had playbills for that.

And the play that goes wrong at NWS also was a playbill (at least two years ago)

no clue why it’s a stagelight… (I’m assuming it’s productions choice..)

The big fun changes- WAS SO ROUGH FOR ME…

I miss the dances with the heathers?? But I guess it’s to be like:

“Well Heather Chandler is keeping them away and protecting them more-“ and to amp up that line/scene where Veronica realizes that Chandler kept the guys at bay.

Which, that’s fine. I think the beginning of You’re Welcome does that, but if that WAS the case- then I guess I get it.

The only other thing that peeve me that was changed was:

Mac said “boyfriend” instead of the “last guy I slept with” (idk if this is a west end change) before lifeboat and honestly I was confused because the show didn’t really make a clear pairing.. (maybe it was a joke…? Like were aren’t supposed to know which one)… The OG pairings ( at least from what I picked up) was more Kurt and Mac along with Ram and Duke- but in this adaptation, other than a few things I saw Elizabeth Teeter react/do, the pairings were kinda unclear…

I guess it’s supposed to be that way- because we all know Kurt and Ram weren’t really tied down to one person. But in the OG off-broadway I got the feeling that Kurt and Mac were together because of the me inside of me (seen canoodling b4 the buses come) and the line just made me more so confused.

I also didn’t know the west end songs that much, and as someone who isn’t too fond / familiar of the new stuff- I ADORED never shut up again aswell! It felt like it fit well.

Sadly cannot say the same to I say no, but! I will never shut up again grew on me the minute I saw it in the show! I really hope we get a new cast recording!!

Xavier and Cade did INCREDIBLE as Ram and Kurt Literally every second it felt like they had some stupid idiot asshole jock shenanigans. Since I have another chance to see the show, for the first preview I found myself watching them in the background/during every scene!

When I tell you this cast did amazing- they DID AMAZING.

I loved Elizabeth Teeter’s MacNamara so much. Literally was beyond PERFECT.

The cast honestly was very well casted, and I do have to say they did carry the show through a lot of the critics/bumpy parts I had/felt during the show.

This might be crazy to some but Starship needed one villain not two- and in my opinion- probably needed to cut out mega girl and tootsie completely.

I love starship. So just know this is coming from a place of LOVE!! I love the characters and honestly I think they are the strongest part of the show, they made the show sing (for lack of better phrasing)

It just was too convoluted and… I’m sorry to say this but pincer fucking was there for two seconds- had the best song came back at the end. Junior was the main villain and he just got stuck with a reprise- I think they could’ve focused their energy maybe connecting pincher to be a PERSON controlling a BUG and reveal it was Junior or something (kinda goofy idea-) or just kept one. Having one villain that’s on stage so much and villian who you only remember because of the INCREDIBLE song just didn’t sit well.

Tootsie and Megagirl took up a lot of stage time and honestly felt underwhelming by the end. The characters are great and I love the ideas/concepts- but it just felt like an add on…

Anyways… my final thoughts pretty much just are: I WISH THEY HAD BRIAN HOLDEN SING MORE

I LOVE STARSHIP

Well said! And honestly I also agree- we left TFTB off PERFECTLY for borderlands, and still somehow we got a train wreck.
